Can I take the kids to Chef Mickey's and not eat? We are on the dining plan and I do not want to use one of my dining credits. We are two families traveling together. On one of the days, we would like to take the kids to Chef Mickey's breakfast and then go out for adult lunch in a signature restaurant. Only one of us would take the kids to Chef Mickeys. If I can do this, should I make a ADR for 4 or 3? This will be on the DxDP.

No sorry, if you're there you pay. Some of the price charged is for the "entertainment" (characters).

Just wondering if the OP would be ok dropping them off, and then going to shop. Is there an age limit for eating alone at WDW?:confused3 OP could easily drop the kids and shop on the concourse. Depending on the kids, 12 and 13 should be able to handle eating at a buffet with an adult nearby.

Or are all the meds I am on making me a little crazy?:rolleyes1 I stayed home sick from work today.

I don't see why, the kids couldn't use the credits, and you could pay out of pocket... Isn't it about 20$? for breakfast?

We went as a large group out to eat last year, and Some of us were on the dinning plan and some of us weren't. Those who weren't just paid for their meal. :)

I see no reason why you couldn't do the same...

I believe the only signature lunch place is Brown Derby in the studios. I believe all others do dinner only

I need to clarify my post, I want to stay with them but I do not want to eat, so I don't want to pay out of pocket. I thought it might be a problem as it was a buffet and entertainment. We would take turns going to lunch while the other couple stayed with the kids and yes, we would like to eat at the Brown Derby. The kids really didn't like the Brown Derby menu. Thanks for all of the quick replys!

Fezvoice- I have 25 plus years of work in Child Welfare with abuse and neglect, I am not stupid at all about risks to children, Both "weirdos" and overanxious paranoid parenting can cause great harm to children.

I think everyone was just trying to help with the suggestions. Anyway, anyone seated at the table, eating or not, must pay. So if you are with the children, regardless of whether you eat or not, you will be charged full price.

I agree, I think people were just making suggestions, because you will NOT be able to do what you wish.

Since it is a buffet everyone seated in the restaurant will be charged whether they eat or not.

As everyone else has said, you will be charged because CM is a buffet. You have 3 choices:
1. Pick a non-buffet restaurant. You pay for only what you order.
2. Keep CM and pay for each person, regardless of whether they eat or not. You can pay OOP or using TS credits.
3. Inquire about the age for children dining by themselves. If it's OK, you may be able to drop the kids off and pick them up.

Thanks Vontino! I think we will make one family trip to Chef Mickeys with everybody and figure out how to make the other adult lunch work at another time. I think the kids would be okay at the buffet but the more I think about it, Chef Mickey's is more of a family affair.
