We went to WDW for the first time last month with our 7 and 11 yr old kids. At first, I was going to skip the character meals because 1) I thought they were old enough that they wouldn't really want to, and 2) we were going on the Disney cruise after WDW and they'd see the characters easily there.

I am SO glad that we did the breakfast at the Contemporary!! Can I say that again?
It was so painless! We got attention from Goofy, Pluto, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse ::MinnieMo (even I had a picture made with her!) without any effort at all. The kids loved it and got autographs and pictures with each character.

The buffet was good too. And that leads me to my question...

They had a potato dish (on allears it's labeled as bacon and cheese potatoes). One of the servers told me it is one of their specialties. It was delicious and I'd like to recreate it at home.
Does anyone have the recipe?

This may not be helpful, now that you are back home...BUT

There are recipe request cards to fill out at every restaurant at WDW. You just ask your server for one. You can ask for the recipe for any dish at any restaurant. You would fill out the card and they would email or snail mail you the recipe. I don't know what you would do after the fact, except to say that I would attempt to call the restaurant itself and ask for the recipe. And if you do that, let us know what happens.
