Chef Mickey's Breakfast/Brunch or 1900 Park Fare?

We decided to forgo another park day for a free day during our trip, so we need another table service option near our hotel (Poly). I was able to snag a Chef Mickey's breakfast ADR. However, I found out that they have brunch with more lunch options as well. I was looking forward to the cheese blintzes, but not sure if they have these at brunch. Also, now I am wondering if we should do the 1900 Park Fare breakfast instead for more character variety since we will be meeting Mickey and crew at Tusker House already. Our party consists of 2 adult and 3 little girls (9,6,1). Thanks so much.

We are having breakfast at 1900 Park Fare this year for the first time. We booked a brunch (starts 18th December during our trip) but then found out weeks later that characters don't appear at brunch so we cancelled it. We're going specifically to meet the mad hatter . For the last 6 years we've done breakfast at Chef Mickey's but not brunch so I can't comment on the brunch choices. We like Chef Mickey's to meet the big 5 but if you are meeting Mickey and friends at Tusker House you are better off meeting a whole new crew at 1900 Park Fare, especially as it's Tigger and Pooh for your youngest, and Alice and Mary for the older children. The mad hatter lives up to his name apparently so we can't wait to meet him.

Thanks. I think I will try to switch to 1900 Park Fare. The older girls want to see Alice and the Mad Hatter.

I don't believe this is correct. The brunch has the same characters at the breakfast, according to three different CMs I've asked, including one just now (Monday, 11/28) who read from the brunch FAQs, which include a question about characters. I think the confusion is that it did not have characters in the past, so it might be a new feature this year.

While I haven't done brunch at Chef Mickey's, I have done breakfast at both 1900 and Chef Mickey's and much preferred the food at 1900.

OH NO!!! I've cancelled now as I read they didn't have characters when I searched for a review on the brunch from last year! ARRGGHH

Ate at 1900 PF brunch for the first time on Sunday. Character interactions were great. They each came around twice while we were there (except Alice, she got a late start). Food was awesome. You have to try the Strawberry Soup!!

We did 1900 park fare breakfast this August and enjoyed both the food and character interactions! I recommend it!

1900 Park Fare breakfast is one of my favorites. My 9 year old daughter loved it and I'm sure your little girls will too! Great food, fantastic characters...you can't go wrong. Don't worry about the cancelled Chef Mickey's...you made the right choice!

1900 is one of the better character meals at WDW for us. The atmosphere, food, characters,.....all of it is great. We've been a few times and can't say a bad thing about it. If you peruse the boards more you'll def. find varying opinions on Chef Mickey. I like Chef Mickey too, we just like 1900 more.

We did 1900 Park Fare Dinner. My in-laws and husband seriously disliked it. I thought it was ok, but certainly not a highlight. The characters were sub-par, no step-sisters... IDK
Chef Mickey's, we've done breakfast and brunch. Both forgettable, except for the fact that we had to chase down Goofy (literally) to get his autograph and a picture. He never even came by our table.

We probably won't be doing either of these again any time soon.

Never been to Chef Mickey's but I love 1900 for breakfast!! Characters are great!!

I would go with variety. See Mad Hatter and Alice. Characters are a lot of fun

The nuance of Characters is that the entire Fab 5 is at Chef Mickey's - no Minnie Mouse at Tusker.

Also, Chef Mickey's is more of a 'hoot' the way they interact with the children (6 & 9 y.o. may be too old to care; 1 y.o. may be too young to really notice).

1900 Park Fare breakfast by a mile. The food is so much better and so are the characters!

If that ever happens at any character meal, just tell your server and they'll make sure to get the character to come by. You may have to wait a small amount but they'll get them to you so you don't have to run them down yourself.
