If I celebrate a birthday at chef Mickey's and order a cake from there, will Mickey/Minnie come over and sing happy birthday? I saw some posts said Mickey will come over.

1) No.
2) They do a group happy birthday with twirling napkins.
3) Of course, when they get to the table, they will motion happy birthday.
4) This happens during their normal walk around to each table.
5) Additonally, "fur" characters do not talk.

NOTE; There is not enough time to celebrate everyone's "special" day. There are just too many birthdays, anniversaries, and other special days to pay attention to each one.

Exactly! We've had birthdays at Chef Mickey's many times, just as recently as last month, and this is always the way it is. One time the server attempted to have Mickey deliver my hubby's birthday cupcake (we had no idea as hubby was at the buffet), and I saw Mickey shrug his shoulders and go into kitchen for break. Our server seemed a bit irritated and thrown off by this, and so she delivered the cake anyway, despite the birthday boy not being there! She apologized and stopped midway, and waited for hubby to return. We did not ask for anything special, so I think she had taken that upon herself, but the characters needed to go on break, so it didn't work out.

Our server last month did a great job for our baby boy who turned 3 on July 4th! Our boy loved to be sung to and loved his cupcake - Minnie did come over a few minutes later, as it was her rotation, so the server did a great job of paying attention to that schedule and timing it just right.

Tiger :)

A few years ago we celebrated my dad's birthday there and Goofy came to our table with a Cupcake which he gave him.

For my son 2nd birthday, when the music came on and twirling napkins, our server brought us a cupcake to sing happy birthday, and in that very moment, Mickey was around our table, so he came and gave DS a big kiss on his cheek :lovestruc we have great pictures of that moment.. that kind of magic only happens at Disney

My DD will be celebrating her 6th Birthday when we will be at Chef Mickeys, How do you go about getting a birthday cupcake brought to our table for her?

make sure it's doccumented on your ressies that you are celebrating a birthday. most times that would take care of it, if that doesn't, make sure she is wearing her birthday pin, the cm's are quite aware of these. we had our anny ones in oct. 09 and they brought us cupcakes to celebrate....that the kids quickly scammed from us! lol

Thank you so much, I don't remember if I told them when I made the ADR but I did for ASMu ressies so I better call and make sure. Our kids would do the samething with taking our cupcakes too lol too cute.

we celebrated our DD's 5th birthday with dinner at Chef Mickey's and ordered a cake to have delivered to our table. It was a Minnie cake. Our waitress was awesome...she waited until our table was next for Minnie and timed bringing out our cake with her coming to our table...worked PERFECT!!!!!

You're not guaranteed to be brought a cupcake even if you note the birthday on the reservation. Odds are good, but it isn't a guarantee.

Wow an entire cake! Thats so neat! but I don't want to have to figure out what to do with the leftover cake and I highly doubt that they will deliver the leftovers to our room at ASMu but it sure would be so nice, oh well no biggie, she will love just having a Birthday Cupcake all to herself, IF she gets one :) What does Disney guarantee? that you WILL spend money! lol:rotfl:

Goofy delivered the cupcake for my DD. It was an awesome experience for her. We got lots of pics and she still uses her "special" placemat that they gave her.

they arent face characters so they wont sing but if you all sing they may come over and gingle and jump and act happy

no prob! enjoy the trip! we've celebrated an anny and bday at the world and got custom cakes for both. sadly you are rite and they wont deliver it back. what we did was eat, take the extras back(gave some away to wonderful disney friends we kept running into down there, wish i had gotten their emails!)to asmovies/wl and then headed to which ever park had emh. it was a pain, esp waiting on buses etc, but there was no way a cake was holding up in the heat.
