Chef Mickeys At dinner Question

What is the latest seating time that is available at chef mickeys at dinner time. on the day we fly in we will be arriving in orlando at 6.30 pm, and we will have been travelling (on planes) for around 24 hrs, so we wanted to have a really nice dinner to celebreate surviving the trip and arriving in the world, so we were hoping to catch the last seating of Chef Mickeys after we check into the resort (staying at POP). If it helps we will be arriving on the 28th of June 06.

I just checked with Disney Dining (local call for me) and they said the last seatring for Chef Mickey's is at 9:20 pm. I know I have been at some of the WDW buffets with a late seating and asked when they broke the serving line; the response was when the last Guests leave. That means if you get there and are seated you will not run out of food.

Chef Mickey's is lots of fun. It's loud and lots of napkin twirling. I think it's a great first night dinner. My only concern is that you guys will be travelling for 24 hours, will you be in the mood for that boisterous of an environment?

Wow, I admire your stamina. That must be a draining trip.

I wonder if the timing will work out very well for you? If you don't get in until 6:30, it's still going to take some time to get your luggage and get out of the airport. Then you will have check-in time and getting your stuff to your room and then actually getting to Chef Mickey from Pop.

Are you renting a vehicle or relying on Disney transportation?

I hope it works for you. Other ideas may be Boardwalk or Downtown Disney restaurants which would be open later.

we will leave Adelaide at 5.30 am 28 June (local time= gmt +9.30) (4pm on 27th June Florida time) check in at the airport (we live 2 blocks from the airport... literally), then get on a 6 am flight to Sydney, gets in at 9.05 sydney time (GMT + 10.00) (7.30pm 27th Jun florida time). then get on a flight to Los Angeles about 11.30 sydney time. That gets into LAX at 6AM 28 June LA time (9 am Florida time) then eventaully have to get through customs immigration and grab a flight across the country. If we manage to get the flights that i think we will be on, then we will arrive at MCO at 6.30 pm. We are hoping to hire a car at some point, but are not sure of the exact details at the moment. I just worked out that by the time we get off of the plane in MCO we will have been travelling for about 26 hrs. good thing i am used to sleeping on planes...

It will be just me and my partner, so the two of us are used to travelling long distances... (we live in australia, where one state capital to the next is a minimum of a 8 hr drive)

So hopefully everything will work out.

That is wonderful you are making the most of your first day!!!
My dh and I rented a towncar last Oct. to pick us up from the airport and take us to Shades of Green (right beside the Poly). It took us barely over an hour to get our luggage, pile into the towncar and get to WDW. We are planning on doing the sames thing this Oct.
I think if you get in at 6:30 and alllow yourself half an hour to get your luggage, then about an hour drive to the resort, you are looking at arriving at 8:00. After you check-in and head to Chef Mickey's, I think you could make it for a 9:20 ADR.

You might as well make the ADR and then if you get there early you may get seated early. Or if you change your mind you can cancel from your hotel room at the last minute. At least htat way you know you have the option of going to Chef Mickey's with your ADR. Good luck!!!
