The only ressie I could get for Chef Mickeys is at 7:00am. Is it worth us having to get up that early and we would have to get a taxi??
I am sure it will be a lot of fun, but seriously, is it worth it?? We are going to have a long day at MK that day and I hate to wake up the kids super early for just an average character meal.
We are also going to The Crystal Palace so they will see some characters.
Thoughts??

THANKS!

I don't know how your family does getting up early. If that was the only time I could get, I'd go. :thumbsup2 We LOVE Chef Mickey's though, and not all people do.

The pros for you - You are done early enough in the morning to head to MK and see it early. You won't miss a bunch of "park time" eating. I don't know what the hours would be that day, but you'd make excellent time to the park. You can walk or take the monorail. You may be lucky enough to get in earlier and get a great picture of the castle before crowds build.

The pros for us - We enjoy the character interaction and the food. Granted, the food isn't the big draw for us; it is standard breakfast buffet fare. But it is good to fill us for the morning, and we love the feel of the restaurant.

I've not done Crystal Palace, but that is because it is the Pooh characters. Sorry everyone - they aren't a must-see for me. We love Mickey and friends, and that is what draws us to CM.

It is a great choice if you'd like to meet these characters and not stand in line at the parks. However, if you know you'll have melt-downs because of the hour, it may not be worth it to you.

I know I haven't helped much, but hopefully gave you one opinion to consider.

Do you have kids? They will love it. If its just adults, I would think twice (although it is cool for true Disney fan adults!!) Food is really good too.

I prefer early starts with kids. Get up, eat and hit the parks early before the crowds come in. We take an afternoon break and go back around 5:00pm when most are headed for dinner.

You know your familys schedule better than anyone. Think about what is best for you!

Enjoy!

They normally are up by 7am on a normal morning when they go to bed at 8pm the night before. We will be at Epcot the night before and there until at least 10pm so we can see the fireworks show.
SO... we would def have to get the kids up by 6am to make it at Chef Mickeys by 7am.
The kids are 3 and 4... so hopefully they will nap in the afternoon (but highly unlikely).

To me, on vacation there are very few things that I think are worth it getting up and out by 630a ( that's pretty much the time you will need to leave to get there on time ) to eat.

I'd try to get one of the other character meals if that was the only time, but that's just me.

Keep trying for another time. However, Chef Mickey's is an amaziing experience that they will remember and probably give you lots of "moments" to capture. CM's is far from an average character meal.

If you're staying on site plan a break back to the room either late AM or early afternoon. You will be able to do Fantasyland, Toontown quickly enough, take that family break including your next meal and be fresh enough for more action later including a parade. Even if you don't have parkhoppers you can re enter the same park, so no worries there.

Bottom line, go to Chef Mickey's. The food is good and the character interaction and atmosphere are amazing.

We always book 7.00 am by choice. A) It is less crowded and therfore more character interaction B) The food is fresher C) You will be at MK for the opening ceremony and rope drop D) You will almost certainly be seated very quickly whereas by, say, 9.00 a delay can have built up and you could be sitting round for a while. I would say definitely go for it.

we love dining at chef mickey's, but for dinner. we eat breakfast in our room so we can get more sleep and get to the park(s) early. since we eat a light breakfast, we will be ready for lunch earlier. we eat lunch early to beat the rush and to avoid the long lines. our dinner @ chef mickey's is usually around 6:00. the food selection is quite good and enjoyed by the entire family (39, 37, 9, 7 and 2 1/2). mickey and friends are very interactive and provide fabulous photo ops.

Yes it's worth it. In my opinion your in Disney sleep when you gety home. :)
That's also coming from my 5 DS's who got up that early when they were young & loved it and said they would still get up & do it now. Were a family that loves Chef Mickey's.

i could only get a 10:20am. What are the odds of getting a 9:00-9:30am in Nov. 21st. Do i call back in a few days or a few days before my trip?
