Chef Mickey's and Characters

I had read a while ago that the characters no longer come to each individual table for pictures and interaction. Is that actually the case or am I mistaken in remembering what I read?

I think just Mickey no longer makes the rounds....I could be wrong though.

Yep...the story was that they were trying out a setup where Mickey was available for a photo op and didn't come to the tables. All the other characters still did.

I do not know if Mickey has now gone back to visiting tables but it's been pretty quiet on the board about this lately - either they scrapped the idea or people have gotten used to it.

How new is this? We were there in July 2010 and all the characters came around.

I was there about a month ago and Mickey came to our table. I started wondering if I imagined that, but double-checked my pictures to be sure. Visitors to our table included Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Pluto & Mickey.

We were there on October 28th and all of the Fab 5 came to our table one at a time. We really liked Chef Mickey's food and character interaction.

There was a thread a while ago which said Chef Mickey's has stopped having Mickey stand in one specifc area for pictures and it was also mentioned on a WDW news website.

I was there in October and we had breakfast. There were 4 adults in our group(no children) and I noticed when the characters got to our table, they tried to go by really fast. We had to get up and grab them in order to get pictures. Needless to say, I was annoyed by this. Just because we didn't have children with us doesn't mean that we didn't want to see the characters. That's the reason we went there!

We were there in October as well and all the characters including Mickey came by. Mickey made 2 trips as he had to do his song and dance but came back to us as soon as it was finished.

We've been 3 times now, the last being April this year. There was a photo op with Mickey before going in but all the characters came round to each individual tables for pics etc

This past February they came around...that stinks if they don't now!

I agree it would stink, but fortunately (had you read the previous posts) it doesn't stink, because the Fab 5 comes around to each table. They may not spend as much time as you would like, but they do come around.

We were there last week and all the characters came around to the tables. I had heard that Mickey was just doing the photo before the meal but that must have changed because he did come to our table.

This was only for a trial period... they were testing out a new system for characters @ Mickey's and it should go back to normal around the end of November.
