Chef Mickey

Looking into Chef Mickey's, and I'm curious if a 2yr old is charged at the child price? Or does that start at 3 like tickets??

Starts at 3. No charge for a 2-year-old.
This is true, but they don’t get food either. Must eat off an adults plate or order a child’s meal since they have switched to plated meals. It’s probably not as much of an issue here since it’s family style, but some of the other former buffets only provide one plated entree per person.

I've seen a very detailed review on I believe it was Touring Plans... they said without the character interactions it is a very different experience but the food is still great! As with everything lately, things are just a little bit different.

The characters came back last week, anyway.

We ate there back during our August trip and I just heard they just added back a character parade so you can take socially distant pics with the gang. The food is now served family style and it's decent. Now that the characters back, it's more of a value, but it's not my favorite. I do prefer family style over buffet since you can sit and enjoy the meal with family/friends but we just don't ever eat enough to justify the price. For us, we much prefer more variety for a buffet, family style meal. Food was good, of course we love the mickey waffles, they had bacon and sausage links on the platter. They also have parfaits and some cheese/deli items that they'll ask if you want since some people don't eat that for breakfast so rather than waste it, they ask if you're interested. We had great service and we love watching the monorail roll in the lobby.

I can only imagine that its a different experience without the characters ..... we love the breakfast there not a big fan of the dinners

Can someone who's gone recently tell me how long the new dining experience takes? We have a 7:30am reservation on a day MK opens at 9:00am. We're trying to figure out how long it would take for two adults and a teen to eat and walk over to MK. If it will take too long we might decide to skip it, although we usually all enjoy sit down meals.

In the past, it was terrible.
Haven't been since it reopened, but multiple reviews have been very positive.

We were there for breakfast in December (before the characters came back), and we thought it was excellent! Food was hot, the waitress (and waiter that was assisting her), were fantastic... food kept coming as well as drink refills, without even having to ask. We had a castle view, which made everything even better. I thought it would have been weird not having the characters there, but honestly, we didn’t mind it!!

We had always said we wouldn’t eat there again (from past experiences), but thought we’d give it a try again because of the changes... not only would we would go back now, but I’d also definitely recommend it! Enjoy!

We ate there over Christmas week. We had a 8 am reservation and were there for about an hour. The characters came around twice while we were there. The rotation goes much quicker since they’re not hanging out at the tables. They do make an effort to stop so you can take a socially distanced photo if you’d like.

Thank you. So my guess, is that we could do it in 45 minutes, if we paid while we were still eating, and only counted on (socially distantly) seeing the characters once. We'll have to decide if it's worth it. Thanks!
