We have a 7:30am ADR at Chef Mickey on the day we are visiting MK. Do you think we would have any problem getting to MK in time to see the opening ceremony? Also, do you think we could leave our vehicle @ Contemporary or would we have to move it?

What day are you going to MK? Is it an 8 or 9 am opening? I think if the opening it at 8 am there is no way you are going to see it. Even a 9 am opening is pushing it, IMO. By the time you are seated, eat, see all the characters...it is possible but I wouldn't want to rush through one experience to get to another, if that makes sense.

Also, I do not think you can park at Contemporary all day...I think you only get a 3 hr pass if I remember correctly. Which means that would also take more time, to move your car to TTC and get to the park.

Where are you staying?

I would say that I think that you are going to have a problem getting there to see the opening for the same reasons, seat,eat, characters & I don't think that you can keep your car there--I have heard on other threads they say you can't leave it there. If it was me I would do the opening ceremonies then go to Crystal Palace, don't get me wrong we really liked chef mickey's but we did it for dinner & I would rather be in the parks early

no you can't leave your unitized transportation platform @ CR... The gate guards give you a 3 hours pass, they check.

depends on the day of the week and time of year as to when the opening ceremony takes place... however the odds are with you.

Yes, if it is an EMH morning they play a recorded and don't do the full opening ceremony, park in the MK lot, take the resort monorail.

We'll be there 7/23; no EMH (don't do parks when there is) When I made the reservation, they suggested I park at the TTC parking lot and then hop on the monorail to the CR, then take that back to MK after breakfast. I was just wondering if we could avoid all that and just park @ CR. But this would be ok I guess....we'll probably be one of the first ones in the lot at TTC. Someone else on this tread mentioned CP instead of Chef Mickey; we did CP on a previous trip and wanted to try CM; although the thought of walking down Main Street with no one around sounds delightful.

Resort Monorail to CR.

Arrive as early for the ADR as you can.

After breakfast, WALK to MK (the monorail will take up to 25 minutes as MK is the LAST stop after CR.)

The walk will take about 8-10 minutes so, if you want to see the MK Welcome (rope drop) make sure you arrive at MK by 8:40am.

The ceremony begins at 8:48am.

Thanks for the tips! I was planning on parking by 7am. I didn't realize you could walk to the park. I'm assuming there is a walkway? Is it easy to find or marked w/signage?

Yes, sidewalk all the way.

But, basically you just follow underneath the monorail beams back toward the MK.
