Hi,

Just wanted your thoughts regarding character dinners at Chef Mickey's vs. 1900 Park Fare.

We are a family of 7 ( 5 children between 5 and 7 ) and went to Chef Mickey last June. The kids loved it. My husband wants to maybe try a different character dinner this time and wanted your thoughts.

Thanks

They are both great and I think it depends what characters you want to see!! However I think the food is better at 1900 Park Fare!!! :teeth:

The food is miles better at 1900 Park Fare. It is quieter with the characters but the interaction is great. Its our favourite.

Both are great! I think it mostly depends on what characters you are wanting to see. I thought Chef Mickey's was a lot louder and a much more playful atmosphere - we loved it, especially my DS2! 1900 Park Fare was fabulous too though. The food was better, in my opinion, and the atmosphere a bit quieter (although how quiet can it really be at a Disney buffet :goodvibes ). We really enjoyed both and will be doing both again on this trip. If I could only pick one, I would probably pick 1900 Park Fare since we liked the food better and since my son is obsessed with Cinderella! ;)

The food is better at Park Fare, but Chef Mickey's is much more fun-singing, waving napkins. You don't do anything like it at Park Fare. It is a very pretty restaurant with a more reserved atmosphere. It depends what you are looking for and which characters you are looking for. The dinner at Park Fare is Cinderella, Prince Charming, Fairy godmother, and the 2 mice. Chef Mickey's is Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, Chip, and Dale if I recall. Enjoy!

Loved them both! I guess I would base my choice on what the kids really wanted to do. We are doing both next week.....2 kids 2 choices. lol

We have been to botha nd love them both - so if I had a choice I wold do Park Fare for breakfast because it was soooooooooo good then later in my stay I would do Chef Mickey's for dinner because it is sooooooooo fun! After all you do need to each both breakfast and dinner - I think I like my reasoning!!!!

Yes, I would do Park Faire. Make it on one of your non-park rest days. Make your ressie around 4:30 p.m.ish and the restuarant does an adorable opening show with a countdown "Biddity Boddity Boo!" and pixie dust thrown in the air.

The food is very very good. Also, go about 45 minutes earlier than your ressie and walk around the grounds of the Grand Floridian ---aahhhhhhh!!!

You'll love it.

Thanks for your input. I should have mentioned that I have 4 boys and one girl. I thought that 1900 Park Fare was Princess characters and Mickey and friends. If it is just princesses, the boys will not like at all.

Also, another question for you all. Have any of you done the Hoop-de-do and Fort Wilderness and what are your thoughts? It would not be replacing a character meal but would be another dinner.

Thanks

The food is much better at 1900 Park Fare for dinner. If you want to give Chef Mickey's a try, go for breakfast. princess: pirate: :earboy2:

Two completely different atmosphere's. Chef Mickey is always loud and lots of fun. 1900 Park Fare is a more relaxed dinner with better food.

I think it depends on what your looking for. I do love both though.

I agree, completely different places. 1900 PF has several characters from Cinderella, not just princesses. We met Prince Charming, Fairy Godmother, some mice and Cinderella. And the food was unbelievably good. We like Chef Mickey's too.
