Chef Mickey v. Tusker House (dinner)

Hi, I have dinner ressies booked for a Saturday evening at both CM and Tusker House. We will be paying OOP since we are on the QSDP, but I was kinda thinking we all might be ready for a "meal" at this point rather than another burger or sandwich.

We've never eaten at either. I booked CM for the character interaction (and so we are over by the monorail to do some resort exploring after), but I was able to snag Tusker this morning for 5:00 PM and AK closes are 5. Any advantages to being in AK eating after hours? I presume they will escort us right out when we are finished.

Food comparisons?

Just looking for some opinions. TIA!

From a food standpoint, I feel Tusker is slightly higher. That being said, CM has a better location for exploring, etc. Character interaction is comparable at both locations (at least in our experience). Chef Mickeys was and continues to be a bit more chaotic than Tusker.

If AK closes at 5, you will have to leave the park after you eat. Nice way to end a day at AK.

Can't help you with food recommendations, but I just want to make sure you are aware there are no characters at Tusker House for dinner (they are only there for breakfast).

We had a Tusker House dinner in April right at closing. It was yummy food, all still tasted good. The most uncrowded restaurant we ate in all week because of the timing We were not rushed out as there were still people leaving who had apparently been in long linger prior to closing. We were able to take some nice family pictures in front of the Tree of Life on the way out.

Right. I knew that....which is why I lean toward CM for our one OOP dinner. And it's one we have never done!
