Chef Mickey or 1900 Park Fare?

We have a ADR for dinner at Chef Mickey and I know my daughter (who is 2.5) knows the 5 characters really well, BUT I've heard so many reviews saying that it's just decent that I am thinking of changing it to 1900. I've heard the food is better and that it isn't as crazy there. The downside is I don't know all of the characters that go there (I know Mary Poppins and Alice but that's about it).

Which would be the better choice in your opinions? My gut is saying Mickey just because of the characters, but the rest of me (and the logical part of me) is saying to try 1900. Both would be for a dinner reservation if that makes any difference at all.

Mary Poppins and Alice are there for breakfast. Cinderella, Prince Charming, Stepmother, and stepsisters are at dinner. I would change to 1900. The experience there is a lot of fun.

I've done both, and I would keep it Chef Mickey's. You get pics with Mickey, the buffet has a bigger, better selection, and the concourse at the Contemporary is beautiful.

Chef Mickey's is a classic for our family. It is the one dining experience I remember as a kid and still enjoy in my mid 20s. The food is perfect for kids. Mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, pizza, pasta, etc.

We have done both and I would say the food is probably about the same... they are both Buffet food and both are ok. I would choose based on which characters you want to see. 1900 is Cinderella, Prince Charming and the step sisters. Which they are hilarious. But you can't go wrong with the fab 5 either.

1900 Park Fare would be our only choice of the two. Just had breakfast there this week, very positive experience.

Chef Mickey's - hands down! It's so much fun! 1900 is nice but chef Mickey's blows it away. It has the classic characters! We never skip chef Mickey's when we go to wdw.

I personally would do both.

Chef Mickeys for an early breakfast followed by a short walk to MK. 1900 for either breakfast or dinner are both awesome. Dinner is better as the step sisters are awesome. Food is superior at 1900 but CM has plenty of kids choices.

I'd suggest Chef Mickey for brunch. The food is much better than dinner and you still get the characters you want.

I would keep Chef Mickey's and try to find a 1900 Park Fare. The experience is amazing at both.

When our family went 3 years ago, we had Chef Mickey's for breakfast and 1900 Park Fare for dinner. My kids were 4 and 2. The kids were both awake for Chef Mickey's. My 2 year old was ready to pass out at the 1900 Park Fare dinner. Though, both kids really remember 1900 Park Fare for the experience a lot better than Chef Mickey's. Food wise, the kids loved 1900 Park Fare. They are still remembering about the dessert and candy selections.

This year we are going back. I haven't been able to find a Chef Mickey's but was able to find a 1900 Park Fare breakfast and a dinner for another day. The girls cannot wait to meet Alice for breakfast!

Easy! 1900 Park Fare! We did brunch at Chef Mickey for my youngest 3rd birthday (even had a custom Minnie Mouse cake made for her) and it was our worst experience of the whole week! Food was bleh and I had water falling from the ceiling on my head and management barely apologized!

Important note:

Dinner at 1900 Park Fare is Cinderella, Prince Dude, and then some combo of Cindy's stepmother/stepsisters/fairy godmother, with the occasional sighting of a carriage mouse. The stepmother and stepsisters are by far the best characterizations at Disney, no contest amongst face players.

Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare are Mary Poppins, Alice, Mad Hatter, Pooh and, uh, either Piglet or Tigger. I've never encountered a bad Alice or Mary, honestly, either. Definitely at the higher end of characterizations. (The Alice we encountered our last trip was really great, and probably wins my gold star for "best interaction" on that trip; she wasn't at 1900PF but I assume at some level face characters don't always get booked to the same place every shift.)
