Chef Mickey lunch during free dining - characters or no characters?

I noticed that they did add in a lunch, but the online dining system says that it does not include characters. Is this how it's been in the previous years? Bummer if so!

Nope. Previous years had characters and most of the CM responses from people asking have been that there will be characters. I for one would trust them on this as the online system has been worse than phone CMs as of late. (Though, it still may be ahead of bus drivers in regards to the truth).

I would suggest calling Chef Mickey's directly. The phone number is probably available somewhere online. Talking to the restaurant front desk, especially if you get ahold of the the manager, is your surest bet.

Several people have reported checking this out with Chef Mickey's and they confirmed there are characters at lunch - we will be eating there for lunch when we go in August.

I would call and check as well. Actually I have a 11:15am reservation the first week of October is this time considered lunch or breakfast? I was hoping fora late breakfast

We have an 11:10 reservation for September. I also am hoping for breakfast. I'll be terribly disappointed if it's not. When I booked, I was told that the last reservation was at 11:30 so would assume that breakfast will still be served until then.

It is definitely characters for lunch. This has been confirmed by a manager at Chef Mickey's.

You are right, and it's even on Disney's site that breakfast is until 11:30 at Chef Mickey's.

I couldn't imagine them not doing characters. I would assume most people go there to see characters and would be pretty upset if they showed up and there were none. You know, those who don't lurk on Disboards

I talked to a CM for Disney Dining. They said that it couldn't be Chef Mickey's without the characters! She quoted the price for adults as $28 with the disclaimer that prices are subject to change. I can't remember the exact price for children, but I think it was around $18. When I asked about the menu, the CM said it would be a buffet with a soup and salad bar and several entrees (mainly pasta dishes). It all sounded good to me! This will be our first trip to Chef Mickey's so I am excited!

I also just made a lunch ressie online, and it said no characters. So I called to ask about it...CM confirmed that it was a mistake on the website, and there would be characters!

We were in the Contemporary Resort last week. We didn't have lunch at Chef Mickey's, but did see characters there.
