Is it possible to get seated at Chef Mickey's as soon as they open for dinner without an ADR? I can only get a 7:50 or later seating, which I took, but was hoping if I get there when they open I could get seated with a party of 4.

Does anyone know what time they start serving dinner?

I would recommend that you keep calling and checking for a better time. I had a smiliar problem for a different restaurant and I called and called, and about a week before, I was able to get a time closer to what I wanted. Also, I've found that calling the night before or the morning of, they'll open up a few extra seats possibly at better times (I had luck with this once). Good luck and I'm sure you'll get a better time! You were definitely smart to grab the 7:50, so at least you have something.

It is better to keep callling to try to get the time you want than to count on getting a walk-up, even right at opening time. We are fans of early meals -- breakfast, lunch, or dinner we are often in the very first group to be seated. I have seen people turned away, at Chef Mickey's (but, at breakfast time) right at opening time because all the tables were ear-marked for people with ADRs....

The other thing that has worked for us is "we have 7:50 ADRs but the kids are hungry now. Is there any chance we can get in early?" It usually works...and it frees up your later slot.

You are right to take the late ADR and keep calling.

We have gone to Chef Mickey's without an ADR--DD decided at last minute that she wanted to eat there. I called and was told, "no way." We went over anyhow (I'd told her that if we couldn't get in it would be CS burgers). We must have hit just the right time--no line and we were seated in under 5 minutes. As we were leaving, the line was clear down the hall.

I wouldn't suggest trying it with NO ADR. We were lucky. However, CMs tend to be really good about letting you in early. So...call frequently trying for an earlier time. It that fails, just go over early and hope.

Thanks for the advice!

I've been trying every day or every other day - so hopefully I'll get lucky!
