Chef Mickey Cost (and other variable cost dinners)

Chef Mickey dinner is listed at $35 - $59.99. For a family of 5, that range is really difficult to deal with when trying to make a budget. I also have Crystal Palace, H&V and Liberty Tree Tavern (2 times) booked which all have a similar price range. How can I get the actual price? The CM on the phone would only give me the range. I know the date of the reservations. 8/7/21 - 8/17/21 Why can't they tell me the price? Should I call again? Did I just get bad info on the first call?

Just read the menu on the website or app. Breakfast is $42 adult / $27 kid; dinner is $55 adult / $36 kid, not including tax and tip.

honestly wonder why they bother with prices. They should just say “an arm and a leg”—would amount to the same thing.

Hmm. When I click On chef Mickey in the app, I see the range. Then when I click on the menu I do get a price, but my best guess is that’s the price for today.

Somebody correct me if I am wrong but didn't they go to seasonal pricing before COVID? Lower price say July, and sky high price in December?

If you go to the menu, you'll see the pricing for each meal. The character meals have consistently been $55 for awhile, so that's the price I've been planning on.

Yeah pretty much all of the buffets were seasonal pricing pre-Covid, I’m hard pressed to think of any that had a year round set price.

They have all been set price since reopening

Yes the only differences now are child vs adult and meal time (breakfast vs lunch vs dinner).

Most buffet and AYCTE restaurants began seasonal pricing before the pandemic started.

OP, that is a huge pet peeve of mine as well for the Disney buffet style meals. It’s not rocket science to print the actual price. So annoying.

For what it’s worth, we got priced out of all of those styles of meals years ago when we weren’t able to go during the time of year when free dining was offered. The meals, even with the character interactions are just not worth what they are charging in my opinion.

We paid out of pocket for a couple of years for Cape May but once all of us became adults by Disney standards, 10 years and older, the price just became ridiculous. $300 for one meal for a family of five just can’t be justified by us.

The only exception for us this year is Whispering Canyon Café for lunch, and this will be our first time trying it. That is $24 plus tax&tip per person.

There Is only a few seasonally priced eateries we went to in the past: ‘Ohana, Biergarten, Hoopdedoo, and CG brunch. The kids have outgrown any interest in ‘Ohana and HDD; the man liked Biergarten but he won’t be going to WDW anymore and finally CG brunch which is worth the price, IMO. Looking at the Wave breakfast video nicely reinforced how perfectly eggs are cooked at CG for me.
