Chef Mickey...Characters Always There?

I made a reservation at Chef Mickey, and the guy on the phone said that there's no guarantee that the characters are there. Is this true? Has anyone ever been to this restaurant and had the chaacters not be there??? The only reason I would go to this restaurant is for the characters. Help!

The cm probably mis-spoke and meant to say that there is no guarantee which particular characters will be there. However, the characters usually appearing at Chef Mickey's for both brkfst & dinner are: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto & Donald.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but is Donald almost always there at dinner? I know they are not guaranteed, but was hoping he would be there too.........

It doesn't matter when your adr is during their character dinner hours - you should see all of the characters regardless. Sometimes the characters take a short break or sometimes you may miss a character, so if this ends up happening just notify your server and he/she will try to help you.

yes, the characters are always there. It will be Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald & Pluto. They take periodic breaks and do rounds for the restaurant, but it should take about an hour or so to see all the characters.

1) Correct.
2) Even the notes on the ressie software says this.
3) And, it is required that the ressie CM mention it.
4) Characters could be missing due to
. . . abstenteeism/tardiness
. . . costume malfunction
. . . meetings

Yes characters will be there, I think the CM is required to say that the schedule characters are not guarentee and may change but the last few years we have been to the Characters meal at Disney has not been changed but may changed.
