Chef Mickey 1st timer..

First time for us too!Going for Christmas dinner!I was going to book for Be Our Guest but looked at the menu and did not see many choices that my son would like..

Sorry, we've been with our kids (ages at the time 8 and 10) and I just don't get it. Maybe it was the photo thing, maybe it was the long waiting (even with ADR) for nothing special food, maybe it was the crowdedness. But I guess that's for each individual to decide for themselves, sounds like as many people love the place as those who don't. Agree with the people who recommend Tusker House and also Crystal Palace is excellent too, and very convenient. The buffet food is just as good or better at other buffets on the property.

(Disclaimer: CR theming is not one I'm esp. fond of (feel like I'm in an airport), however, the QS is one of my favorites, excellent sandwiches and cupcakes and a nice walk/break over from MK).

We just ate at Crystal Palace for dinner a few days ago and it was not as good as when we ate there Dec 2011.

Most of the all you can eat buffets have gone to premixed salads and less fruit on the buffets.

Chef Mickeys was one of our favorites breakfast. We plan to try dinner again March/April 2014. I am so glad I didn't listen to the advice on this board that Chef Mickeys was terrible. It was delicious.

Good Luck !

Yeah, I guess it's just one of those things (along with so many other things at Disney - resorts, restaurants, that you just have to try for yourself if you want to. Lots of things are 50/50 on likers and not likers.

HAHA! My hubby says the exact same thing. I wanted to stay at BLT on our anniversary trip and he shot that down in about 2 seconds.:rotfl:

put us in the LIKE column!

Character interaction is great, and we try to make it to Chef Mickey's on every trip. Dined there at least a dozen times over the past 9 years. We have no problem with the food. While I'd LOVE to see snow crabs and fried shrimp, it does the job-we're there for the characters!
Allow plenty of time to get there, and be prepared to wait to be seated. If you don't want to buy the photos, just let them know-it has never been a hard sell experience for us.
