We are going with two other families in mid Feb. We have been several times but it’s the first trip for the other two families. There are six adults and five kids ranging from two to six. My family has been to Chef Mickey’s twice. I booked it for us because it has the main characters but now I am thinking of cancelling and booking Pirates and Pals that night which we have never tried. Which do you think is better? I don’t want to short change the other families but we are also doing Breakfast at Ohana and *may* do Tusker. I was thinking Pirates and Pals may be a more unique experience.

We just did the Pirate & Pals with my niece and family- 5 adults, 5 kids. We loved it! There were a lot of snacks and Capt. Hook and Mr. Smee were meeting in the snack room. You could take snacks with you on the boat- or back to your hotel. A pirate was our "guide" on the boat. He was very funny and engaged the kids with jokes, trivia and the kids received a small gift. We had a great view of the fireworks and the electrical water parade. Peter Pan was waiting for us upon our return and had a meet and greet with all the kids. I would do it again with my family and we're all adults!

If you are doing O'hana and Tusker (which is MUCH better than CM, IMHO), then, yes, I would probably do something different. I hesitate recommending P&P for really young children, however, as it can be quite a late evening. You don't get back to CR until after the fireworks are over and then you have the chance to meet Peter Pan. I took DS when he was 6 and he was exhausted by the end of it and didn't even want to meet PP.
