Hi DisBoarders,

In our online checks, the menus for Chef De France and California Grill on Disboards site differ from those shown on AllEars, but both claim to be up to date. Any advice from the DisBoarder Nation as to which ones are correct?

Also, for the Chef De France kids menu the Disboards menus show only two options for kids dinners, and both are fish. Is this right?

Many Thanks,

TorontoJoe

Have been to almost all of the Disney restaurants and in general we find the Disney site menus are closer to what is actually being offered. Only once was the menu substantially different when we got there, and when I mentioned the discrepancy, the waitress told us the menu had just changed the day before so she wasn't surprised it was not on the web site yet.

On the other hand, we find numerous errors between allears and the actual menus...everything from inaccurate food descriptions to totally wrong prices. I would recommend taking allears.net menus as "suggestion" of what you will likely find at that restaurant. Even when it shows supposedly updated this month it is not necessarily anywhere close to reality. Allears relies on volunteers delivering correct info, and the volunteers do not necessarily supply it. For example, allears continued to report correct menu info on 'Ohana for about a year after the menu changed...reportedly because someone from "Disney Dining" was giving them the "real" menu every month. Even when one review after another reported the changes.

The menu on AllEars looks like what we saw last Saturday at California Grill. It was the best meal of the trip and we'd highly recommend it. If you like cheese, the cheese plate was absolutely fabulous. Hope you enjoy!

We didn't do Chefs de France this trip, but last year I seem to recall that DS got a cheeseburger, although it sounded much fancier on the French menu.

We went to Cali Grill on 9/29 & it was very close to AllEars menu, but the cast iron veal dish was gone. There was another meat for that, maybe duck? Also, the dessert menu was different. The Valhrona Cake was peanut butter, I think. I got some sort of mousse dessert that isn't on any of the online menus. I was very disappointed in the lack of regular Valhrona Cake...but maybe they change it seasonally? The mousse was very good though.

I agree with the pp though, it was an excellent meal.

Allears updates based on menus people provide to them. You'd expect the Disney site menus to be more up to date, as it would be very easy for them to keep things current---

California Grill is a restaurant that usually switches menus for what's in season, so I would not count on any online menu being exact.

Chefs de France - they have more than 2 items on the kids menu. We were there Sept 29th. They had a hamburger ("ground steak" lol), chicken tenders with plain pasta as a side, and a fish. There may have been one more option, but I can't remember.

California Grill changes their menu items from time to time and definitely by season they change some things around but the menus on either site are basically what they have with a few different items & slight price difference sometimes. Since these sites are both not actually disney's website but what people send in as what is on the menu, there will be differences from each other and when you actually get there.
If you check disney's website, they may have a full listing of kids meals.
