Ok, not sure how he spells his name but that's how it's pronounced. Anyway, I would like to share my experience.....

We had dinner there on 09-12 (a Friday). Before my bottom hit the seat, I was asking the hostess about the goat cheese grilled sandwiches and could I get them. She said she would ask the chef for me. Then our server came over and I asked her the same thing. She said she would check on it for me but that they came with the soup. I told her to bring me the soup. I can't remember if it was the hostess that seated us or the server but one of them asked me how I had heard about them and I said I learned about them online. I was kinda vague. (Keep in mind that my bag is sitting next to me on the bench seat prominently displaying my DIS Unplugged Pin and Button.) Well, the ones that came with the soup were not all they were cracked up to be. They were tiny and only grilled on one side and only 'kinda warm' with a tiny bit of swiss cheese (I really don't remember them having goat cheese at all :confused3 ). The soup was a bit smokey but really good. We order our entrees and are sitting there enjoying the atmosphere of the place and each others company when up walks Chef Chappy. He says he heard that we were asking about the goat cheese grilled sandwiches and he wanted us to try something he put together for us. (Ok, it was totally just for me but he didn't know that.) Folks, this was THE BEST food I've ever had on Disney property. It was a grilled goat cheese sandwich with grilled veges. He said he didn't have all of the ingredients for the sandwich on the lunch menu so he had to improvise and hoped we enjoyed it. Let me tell ya, he didn't scrimp on the goat cheese either. YUM!!! I told the server to please tell him how much I enjoyed it. (I never ate my entree. I was too full from the full-sized sandwich and soup!) As a side note, DH is VERY hard to please and thinks Disney food, well, he thinks it pretty much SUCKS but he loved The Wave as much as I did. We got a kick outa the desserts, too. We were on the DDP (free dining) so we got all 3 selections to try out. Most were great but some didn't please us all that much. Our server was good but she forgot to bring us our bread and we had to remind her. I believe it was just an oversight on her part. She seemed shocked that she hadn't brought it out already. Other than that, she was good. We also met someone from a nearby town (Clinton). Stephanie was very sweet and helpful in getting us a reservation and suggesting some drink choices for me. I chose the Moe-jee-toe! In closing, we give The Wave 2 thumbs up. We'll definitely be back except maybe this time we'll make it a lunch instead of dinner! Thanks, Kevin for the review!! You were spot-on with this one!:thumbsup2

Sounds like you had a great meal. I hope that mine goes just as well. DW, and I have ADR for Tuesday night, only 4 more days!!! getting excited.

"Cant go to sleep, too excited!!"

Thank you for your great review of the Wave! We have an ADR booked for dinner in December and now I am really looking forward to it. How were the desserts? Chocolate addict from RI here. Always looking at the desserts first :yay:

I was so happy I gave The Wave a chance. It was the most enjoyable meal we had on our trip. The part that stood out was that we were not rushed and it was busy but not noisy. My mother had a question on one of the dishes she enjoyed and the server was back in less than five minutes with the answer on how the chef prepared it. The desserts were amazing.

The desserts are offered in 3 different catagories. They are (from AllEars):

Creamy Indulgence - cheesecake with raspberry coulis, coconut panna cotta with passion fruit drizzle, chocolate pasion fruit mousse with pecan-olive brittle $7.99

Decadent Flavors - blueberry compote with yogurt gelato, lemon cornbread with vanilla panna cotta, chocolate mousse with salted caramel sauce $7.99

Crispy and Crunchy - vanilla-braised pineapple spears, almond-pineapple-raisin baklava, zucchini-carrot cake with vanilla panna cotta $7.99

There's also this but we didn't get this one:
Freshly Crafted Sorbets - lemon basil sorbet, pineapple sorbet, strawberry sorbet $7.99

Not much chocolate I'm afraid. I can't remember exactly which ones we didn't like. I do remember that I didn't care for the lemon cornbread though. Unique presentation....The desserts are served on a dish with sections or partitions. (Wish I had taken a pic!) The desserts are very small (just a few bites) but we thought it was perfect for us! We each got to taste each one. It was a fun experience!

Wow thanks for the list of desserts at the Wave! mmmmmm The Creamy Indulgence sounds yummy, minus the pecan-olive brittle(nut alergy):scared1: . May I ask you what AllEars is? I have never heard of that before.

How was your dinner at the Wave figment74?

AllEars is another fantastic Disney info site. You should definitely bookmark it. Here's a direct link to the menus....

Thanks a bunch! I will check this site out.:dance3:

Keeping em "On Property" eh, Kevin? :thumbsup2

I like how easy it is to search the DIS menus for stuff! You have much more flexibility when doing research without having to comb through all the menus - one by one.

Just wanted to let you know that the DIS has the full Wave menu listed as well....including desserts.

You can find it here:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=56

You can find any restaurant on Disney property right here on the DIS by looking here:

:confused3 It's hard to break a habit. I discovered their menus first a l-o-n-g time ago and I like the way they're set up. Come on, Kevin. We gotta spread the Disney-love!

I was just pointing out that the information that you are sending people to another website for, is also available righjt here on the DIS.

And as YellowMickeyPoncho pointed out....in a fully searchable database.

Want to find which restaurants feature a certain item...for example.....who serves french onion soup?

You can find all locations serving french onion soup by doing a simple search.

Cool huh?

 Ok. Ok. Point made. I slapped myself on the wrist. Satisfied? (I refuse to go to bed without my dinner though!):p
