Well I finally got around to making the cheese soup and it was wonderful. However, I ended using twice as much milk as the recipe called for. It was very thick and lumpy as I added the flour. I think next time I make it, I'll use half as much flour. Anyone else had this experience. Also, I couldn't taste the beer at all.
 
I haven't made it yet, but it would be a good thing to fix this weekend, thanks for reminding me!!
 
EXACTLY my experience. Very good otherwise. Maybe could have used a little more zing to it, but a good start. I did use twice the recommended amout of beer as well. (Always double the alcohol and garlic.) It helped a little with the thickness. I also think half the flour would be good. May help with the somewhat bland flavour.
