Cheese Grits!!

I know this will sound silly to some, but I am originally from Texas and when I was growing up we had grits, oatmeal, Cream of Wheat etc. (except Malt o Meal...who eats that stuff?) Anyway, I had heard of cheese grits, but never tried them until I went to WDW. WOW! I loved that stuff. I had it at a restaurant in Epcot near "the Land?" I understand that restaurant no longer serves breakfast

So now that I am going back I need a cheese grits fix.

Where ca I find them?

Please help me! (I know, I know I need help! )

I looked on allears and couldn't find cheese grits. There are plenty that have just grits. I would bet that you could ask the waitress to have the chef make up some for you. Good luck!

I'm not 100% positive, but I think they we have always had cheese grits a Chef Mickey's.

I think I remember seeing them right beside the biscuits and sausage gravy! YUM!!

I am right there with you!!! When we went back in 1999 they had cheese grits at the H & V character breakfast that is no longer there. So I too would love to find out where they are served...anywhere besides CM??

Ok here is the secret to making the perfect cheese grits . Rent and watch the movie "My Cousin Vinnie" follow the elderly lady's directions for making grits (its in the court scene when she is on the stand). During the last 5 min of the grits cooking add 7 or 8 small cubes of Velveeta per serving of grits. ( I know Velveeta isnt the best cheese but it melts really well) Enjoy

Thanks for the recipie. I can make a pretty mean mess o grits, but to have them prepared for ya...especially on Vacation! In Disney World! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

So now the original question, where o where in the "World" can I find CHEESE GRITS!

I'm a Cheese Grits Girl myself - I have requested them at Spoodles (along with Garlic & Bacon) and they have made me up some yummy Cheese Grits. I have also just asked for some grated cheese from Fresh to add to my grits.
I'm not a huge breakfast eater, so I haven't tried alot of different places.

My DH where ever we go just asks for cheese in his grits. Depending on the restaurant will depend on what type you get. Some will put a slice of cheese on the bottom of the bowl and you stir it up. Some put the cheese slice on top and some will mix in the shredded cheese.

I'm pretty sure that the recipe is on the grits box. I've lived in Texas for 24 years now, and cheese grits is a Christmas morning staple!

I had the pepper jack grits with catfish at the Coral Reef. WOW! they were wonderful.
