GD, sorry you had a hard weekend. Sometimes, they aren't worth it. You build up weekends all week and they just let you down. I've been there, was there in fact.

I'll gladly accept that fiver, although that will probably only pay for the fuel to taxi from the hangar to the runway in any plane bigger than mine. My plane may be small, but it is about as fuel-efficient as you'll find (for a plane).

GDad, my weekend wasn't the best, either, but it definitely doesn't sound as bad as yours. Sorry about that.

My flight from Newark on Friday night didn't make it to Nashville until 11 PM eastern (after a layover in Charlotte), and we didn't get home until about 2 AM. However, on one leg of the flight was Kyra Sedgwick (the actress), and the other leg of the flight had Eddie George, formerly of Titans running back fame. I'm not one of those people who gets into autographs, so I didn't go bugging them, but it was kind of cool to know that even celebrities sometimes have to wait like the rest of us, although Mr. George had a seat in first class (Kyra sat 2 rows behind me in coach).

I'm suprised that Kyra Sedgewick would be sitting in coach. I know that when I am rich and famous, I will definitely not fly coach.

Being that I also had to wait in line near her for 1.5 hours (my original flight was cancelled due to winds in the Newark area), I can vouch that it was not due to her lack of effort that she sat in coach. She skipped line to try to check in earlier. I assume she tried to get first class at that point, but that was undoubtedly booked solid by then.

I sort of understood her pulling rank in the line, to some degree. I can understand that no one should be "above" anyone else, but it had to have been quite unpleasant to a) stand in that back-breaking line (I had to do this), then b) wait another 2 hours for a later flight and calmer winds (I had to do this, too), then c) be hassled by untold numbers of people who recognize you, ask what Kevin Bacon is really like, ask if you are Julia Roberts' sister, and on and on (fortunately I did not have to deal with that).

She's not exactly my favorite actress, and I find the whole collagened-up lips look to be not so attractive, but I give her high marks for being a really good sport about that wait. I never once saw her frown after talking to the umpteenth person, signing autographs, being everyone's personal link in the 7 Degrees of Bacon game, etc. She always seemed to smile and act very professionally with everyone. That would have been difficult under the crowded circumstances, if I were in her shoes. To me, it was more fascinating to watch everyone's reactions when they saw her, than to simply see a famous face.

Ok, just to set the record straight, I do not have a stalker. There is just a person on the Dis (not this thread, except FAb ) who scares me a little. It's not that hard to figure out. I think he scares a few people. So, you can all take yourself out of the running! Unless one of you really is stalking me. Then I might have to worry. I'm not stalk-worthy.

Not that I stalk, per se. Not me. I usually run away before they can serve me with the restraining order! But it's really hard to run in these flippers and this trenchcoat. Heh heh huh he huh hee hee hoo haw.
