Checking strollers and car seats on Delta

Does anyone know if I can put other baby items inside of my car seat or stroller bag and not be charged for it? I have a really good sized bag for my car seat and I would love to toss some of the baby's toys and diapers in with the car seat to save precious luggage space. Does Delta check what is in those bags before they go through? I called Delta and double checked that I could check both a car seat and stroller for no charge and asked about putting other items in. The representative said she didn't see why not, but she wasn't sure. I'd hate to go on her "maybe" answer and have to pay for a bag that I wasn't planning on paying for! Has anyone done this?

Honestly, Delta is so FEE happy...they charge for almost everything, so it would greatly surprise me, plus then would they have to scan a different way. Id call them back again and perhaps getting a different person will help. Good Luck!
