We travel every year to Orlando from Newark, NJ. We fly jetblue and always have 2 pieces of luggage that we check in. Last year, even though we got to the airport over 2 hours before, we barely made it in time to the gate. Since they don't have curbside checkin for the luggage anymore, we wind of waiting on the long line to see an agent. Is there another way to get our luggage checked in? I always print out our boarding passes at home the day before.

The alternative is don't check any bags. A lot of people don't check bags for this very reason: the bag lines are pretty unpredictable and can get long.

No more curbside check in for JetBlue at Orlando airport? I did not know this but I just looked at the website and I see it now.

Was your problem the length of the line to check your bags, the length of the security line, or both? I know that for awhile last year, they were checking every piece of food at the security line, which slowed things down when people had collected a lot of candy at the Halloween parties.

Urgh! No RAC and No Curbside at the airport? That would just about eliminate them from my using them. I've seen the lines for checking bags at MCO. They may be worse than TSA lines. When we depart from Universal we always go outside to curbside and wonder why folks are standing inside in those really long lines (this is in the airlines where they do have curbside)

In your case I'd have to go to carry on only, and this is from a chronic overpacker. Heck, I may even mail a box there and back. With UPS you can create a return label when you make your shipping label to the resort.

This is a 12 day trip for me (only half at Disney). I can’t do carryon only. Looks like I will have to go to airport earlier than planned.

Are you referring to curbside at Newark or in Orlando?

Either way, with this issue I’d be getting to the airport 3 hours out.

OP Are you saying no longer curbside luggage check in at Newark airport? Orlando? Both?

My home airport is LGA and I always get to airport 3 hours ahead of flight time. I often end up sitting in terminal with a book reading for an hour or so, but it's much better than worrying or running.

We are going for 15 days, unfortunately have to check a few bags. I know it is so much easier to not check the bags but thought there might be an easier way.

Yeah, that would probably be a lot easier but we use the clothes I am sending for the family, almost up to when I pack the night before our trip. Carry-ons would be the best way but going too long to just have carryons, as I bring more than clothes. Oh well, we will get there earlier.

I was actually asking because someone told me that you can print out your own luggage tags and then hand in your luggage somewhere with the luggage tags on them??? Was looking for an easier way to check the luggage. We will get there earlier, to avoid the stress of almost missing the plane. Lol

Southwest has that at some (but not all) airports. They call it “self tagging.” I don’t know about jetblue.

Thanks but not taking the ME since we are going for 15 days and renting a car, doing the beach before our BWI/GF stay and spending the night before we leave at a Marriott at the airport.

Ok. Sounds like you will have a great trip!
