Hello all. We have decided to use DME on our next stay and wanted to know how do we get to our room with our carry on bags and what not once we check into our resort (SSR FOR NOW) The thought of lugging bags and a 2 year old makes me want to spend the $400 on a rental car lol

You either walk to your room, or take a bus to the area and walk from there. You could leave your carry one with Bell Services, and they might deliver them to your room along with your DME-delivered bags. But, um, how many have of what size are you bringing on the land that you consider it "lugging"?

Well unfortunately we are at Saratoga Springs unless the DVC site shows something else available soon. Last time we were there we had 4 peooles luggage for 2 weeks plus a ton of groceries. This time it will be 3 peoples stuff plus groceries (2 bedroom) and we were so far away last time. I dont see how its possible to take all this stuff PLUS groceries on a bus then all the way to a room. Ive seen people being taken on golf carts with their luggage before. Is this something they offer?

We also just got back from grand California last week was there for 2.5 weeks just myself and my husband and we had 8 bags including golf clubs. Not taking that many bags ever again. Lol

If you're taking DME you won't have to carry any of your checked bags, they will be delivered to your room a few hours after your arrival. If you are arriving late, they can hold them at Bell Services until the next morning.

I'm not sure how you're getting groceries on DME, but if you are having them delivered to the resort (which makes sense and is what I would do), then Bell Services can hold them until your room is ready and then deliver them to your room.

No need to lug anything you don't want to. Just don't forget to tip them for handling your bags/groceries :-)

If you're taking DME, why aren't you checking most of the luggage thru? DME will deliver them right to your villa. Even with a checked baggage fee, it will probably be more affordable than renting a car and car seat for the toddler.

Groceries can be delivered to your villa by luggage services if they arrive at SSR before you or you can have them delivered right to the villa after you have your room assignment. Of course, you will need to be in the villa to accept the delivery. ETA: Walmart will deliver directly to your villa.

That leaves the same carry on bags that you had to deal with at the airports. Are you bringing a stroller? Load some of the carry on luggage in it and allow the little one to stretch their legs a bit once you arrive at SSR.

We planned on ordering walmart grocery delivery but read that they wouldnt leave at bell services. Good to know that I can leave at bell service and ask them to deliver them :)

I don't know about Walmart, but we've ordered from Garden Grocer in the past and this past April we used Amazon Prime Now (which I highly recommend), and they left it all with BS.

We have to bring stuff on board flights that we would not consider checking, a cpap machine, and other things medical, our kindles, iPads, chargers, my jewelry etc., surprisingly altogether weighing a good deal. We check it with bell services, or leave it in the rental car. But depending on how far parking is (can pretty darn far at BW) DH will drop me off in front, go park, and help me bring the stuff in. When we get back to the resort and room is ready, we get bell services staff to deliver. We are on a first name basis with certain staff. Shout out to Al! What a guy, and we let management know!

Ask at the resort, but it it weren't something they offer, you would not have seen people being taken on golf carts.

Red herring. DME resorts do not offer Magical Express.

where did you read this? Where else would any grocery service deliver? :confused3

Yes, we were told at BW that amazon prime now had to deliver to bell services. Give the bell services a heads up if you are having adult beverages delivered so they will accept the delivery for you. One of the guys during one of our deliveries during our recent stay wanted to know that we weren’t underage so he called me on my cell phone. I convinced him I was a senior citizen!

We are flying frontier (free with miles) so just packing light with backpacks since we have the owners locker. We will be checking 1 suitcase and 1 bag of golf clubs. Prob no stroller since I rather rent one. SSR was a nighmare last time so Im just a little worried but thats what happens when we plan last minute. Hopefully SSR wont put us all the way across the way again :)

I read that walmart will only meet you in the lobby if that isnt so great! They can leave it with bell service then. If not someone just replied that they will deliver to our villa

Okay. You threw me off when you mentioned bringing luggage for 3 people.

If you're renting a stroller, you may want to go thru one of the authorized 3rd party stroller rental companies. They will deliver to the resort and you can claim it at bell services when you arrive.

We met the amazon prime now courier at the portico at the main building at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. There’s a place to put delivery instructions before you place the order. We had the experience at BWV that the courier was 2 hours late after the delivery window and tried to call the courier. We could see her progress on the ap and she appeared to be stuck at one offsite resort for over an hour. Not sure how great the courier location shown on the ap is. We were told by amazon customer service the couriers are not supposed to answer any calls while driving but it didn’t much matter since the courier could speak English anyway. Delivery was after 11:30 pm. Bell services didn’t call me, but I went to their desk and the delivery was there. I wouldn’t order anything from amazon prime now in the 6-8 pm or 8-10 pm delivery window on a Saturday night in the future.

Garden Grocer will deliver to bell services within a timeframe you choose without you being present to accept delivery. They will even pick up alcoholic beverages - they have you send a picture of your driver’s license when you order.

I have read that some other stores expect you to meet them in the lobby, they won’t just hand off to bell services. You may want to get clarification from whichever store you’re ordering from (if meeting them will not be convenient for you).

No matter which you choose, bell services will deliver to your room.
