Hi everyone!

We're new DVC owners and looking forward to our first DVC trip this August. :goodvibes I have a bunch of questions, so TIA for your patience and any input!

We're doing a split stay between AKL and BLT, and planning to take a cab over to BLT when it's time to switch resorts. My question is, since I understand there's no 'front desk' at BLT, do we take the cab over to the Contemporary for check-in? What if I do on-line check-in, do I still go to the CR first for keys? If the room isn't ready yet and we need our luggage held, is Bell Services at CR only or at both?

Thanks again and looking forward to any responses!

The check-in for Bay Lake Tower is at the Contemporary front desk. You will have to check in there even if you do an online check-in to get your room keys. Bell Services is right next to the front desk and they can hold your luggage for you.

Have a great time!

Robert

Thanks, Robert, that answered everything (until I think of more questions...!).;)

You can do the transfer without using a cab. Bell Services at AKL can transfer your luggage to CR/BLT, and you can take the bus to MK and walk over (or monorail from MK). There's a lot of time between check-out and check-in, so your luggage will likely end up with BellSvc anyway (don't want to abbreviate that to "BS"). You can check in to BLT any time that day, but you will likely not get your room right away if you check in early (you get your key and then they let you know your room number later). (Is that too confusing?).

Thanks for the info, Mecllap! Yes, we are trying to decide whether to let Bell Svc. move it for us and take WDW transportation over, or go the faster route of bringing things over in a cab. I'm afraid I'll be worried about the bags transferring over if I don't move them myself (can you tell I'm a bit of a control freak!?). Plus, even though I know our villa at BLT won't be ready until late-afternoon, I thought checking in earlier in the day might be a good idea...?? Then again, we're booked in a dedicated-2-BR standard view, of which I think there are only 4 or 5 in the whole building, so it's not like there would be much (any) chance of switching for requests, etc. - we're gonna have to basically take whatever we get. So maybe going over to check-in in person earlier in the day is a waste of time?? Any thoughts/suggestions welcome!!

Seriously, there are only 4 or 5 dedicated 2-bedrooms? I was hoping for one during our upcoming stay in July.

Well, I specifically meant dedicated 2BRs in the standard view category. I'm sure there are many more in MK view and Lake View (not to mention lock-offs). Also, I'm basing my info off of a diagram I saw somewhere (I think here but not 100% since I've been looking at lots of sites lately), so possibly I read the info wrong. Someone with more knowledge please step in and clarify!! Sorry to set you into panic....! :upsidedow
