Checking in with AP rate, yet won't activate pass till next morning

HI all, I will be heading down in January, and purchasing an AP based on the discount it will likely get me. I won't have any way to activate the pass before we get to the hotel, as we will be arriving at 11 PM. I'll be activating it the next morning when we go to the park. Anybody have any experience with this? Will they allow me to check in at the AP rate, or is this going to cause issues.

No problem. They never even ask for an AP. At least in our 20 or so stays, including 1 before we activated the passes

That's a relief. The CM i spoke with on the phone suggested it was required at time of check in, however I wasn't sure if they were maybe just saying that because it's company line and they can't say anything otherwise. I'd be really choked if I had to taxi to disney springs to a guest relations window to activate. Heck, guest relations might not even be open at that hour.

Yes, they are saying that because it's what they've been told to say. You will be fine. Even if, by some very odd chance, they asked for your AP, you can bring it by later. But I'm going to bet no one ever asks.

Don't bring the subject up and HEAVY odds are they won't either.

Worst case scenario,they would let you check-in and activate the next day.

I have been asked to come back to the front desk to show my AP -- only once in the many, many times I've stayed. It was at the Poly. I did go back and they noted it in my file. I'm sure they'll give you a reasonable amount of time to show the AP if they even ask to see it. (Which I wish they would.)

We have been asked, but not often. When they do ask we show them the voucher and come back the next day to show the activated pass. easy!!

It has never been a problem and all our stays have us arriving too late to activate before the following morning.

We did this in February at AKL and it was already on our Disney account and they didn't need to see anything at checkout.

You have 24 hours to produce a valid Annual Pass if asked. Very simple.
