Checking in to say, my family is OK!!!

I am happy to announce that my family is alive and well!!! They all live in Fort Myers and North Fort Myers.....it was very scary for a few hours, but thank God they are OK. Both of my sister's homes have minimal damage....some siding and shingles are missing, one sister has some damage on her roof that led to some interior damage, and my mom and step dad are one of the few mobiles homes that are still standing undamaged in their park. Truely a blessing in so many ways!!!! There is still a lot to endure as they have been told power may not be restored for at least 10 days. My sisters have "moved" to Tampa to reside in a hotel until power comes back, and my mom and step dad are tuffing it out as finances do not allow them to go elsewhere. Please keep those affected by the hurricane in your thoughts and prayers. It seems like the aftermath of this may is going to be incredibly hard.

Having family there myself, I know how relieved you are. 10 days is going to be rough....just getting cash etc., I know my brither is o.k., but this will certainly be a trying time. I still have not heard about his ex and my niece....they live about 3 miles from each other. I hoping no news is good news, and that he was able to drive over to see them. I hope to get thru to someone soon!

I am hopeful that there is soemway for them to get at least a little cash if needed. My folks don't keep a lot of that on hand. My dad and sister's decided to head to Tampa to ride it out in a hotel. Disney hotels are completely booked today and were as well yesterday!!! Keeping all those hurricane victims in my prayers.

Glad to hear they are okay. I just got an email from a friend that lives in N Ft. Myers who did the same as your sisters...headed up to Tampa to stay with his g/f family until power is back on.
