Checking in: paying for ALL DDP's?

Our extended family trip is coming up (15 days and counting!) and DH and I could check in to VWL ahead of my IL's who will be joining us later in the day. If we check in early, would we have to pay for ALL the DDP's? Or can my IL's come pay for theirs when they arrive, even though they're already checked in?

All DDP has to be paid for all parties staying in the unit at the time of check-in. I'd just pay it and have them pay you. Last time, we had the guests pay us their portion of the DDP ahead of time, and we just paid for it then when we arrived.

Thanks dianeschlicht! That begs my next question: If we're all present at check in, can we put it on different cards? The IL's can put their plan on their credit card, and then we can put ours on our credit card?

You should be able to pay for it anyway you want. Your payment on your credit card, their payment on their credit card. But the dining credits will be on everyone's Key to the World and will be combined for each villa. So if you have a two bedroom villa, all the credits will be combined for every KTTW.

However, you can go back later and have your credit card credited and change the charge to the inlaws. We did this for a friend last December.

I asked similar question... and here is what I am planning to do next weeek.

There are 5 of us.... I will check in, basically place my credit card down for the room. (5people 5 days roughly $1000 for DDP)..... night before we are leaving.... the other two people go down and pay $400 towards the bill.

I am told you do not get charged until your check out time. But I am sure people will correct me.

The DDP is not heald till departure, you pay 100% before you get your room keys

My DS is 5 and is Autistic and he doesn't eat anything except peanut butter and fluff, apples, applesauce, yogurt and waffles. I really don't want to have to spend 9.99 a day for him to not eat if I don't have to.

They will run your credit card through mid-stay if it reaches a pre determined balance. Most report lately that is $1500 on the card, and they go ahead and put it on the charge. Perhaps they can just give you the cash?

Yes, to get the DDP, every person in the room must pay for it for every night of the stay.

You may want to talk to the chefs at the restaurants because they may be able to provide the food your child will eat instead of the regular kid's menu.
