Checking in on Monday should I call PPH?

We booked our vacation package through Costco travel, should I call the hotel to confirm our arrival on Monday or at least make them aware we will be celebrating my dh's 8th birthday while were are there (Oct. 6th). What about our character breakfast the day of his birthday.......should I confirm and let them know it's his b-day?
I have never stayed on site other then WDW and always booked with Dreams Unlimited so they have done all the busy work for me

It couldn't hurt. Costco travel is through WDTC, so I wouldn't "worry" about having to confirm my hotel (you have your voucher from your travel docs). But it's nice to put in the computer that you are celebrating a bday.
