Checking in LATE! to CSR

We had to change plans for our trip (arrivng March 6 ), and are now arriving very late (around midnight!).
We have 2 connecting waterview rooms reserved and REALLY want Cabanas 8A. We have stayed there before in 2 rooms, and I know it's hard to get the location you want with multiple rooms. How far in advance should I fax CSR to make this request? (have already requested at the time of reservation).
Anyone else arrived really late and still gotten the location they wanted?

If you have it in your reservation, I wouldn't fax. More and more people are faxing and they are starting to ignore them.

I must apologize now for being a stick in the mud, but I have to share my experience about checking in late. Mind you late for me was 5:00 PM. We were staying at US, so we faxed our request into the A/S Movies--not a big request, just GUARANTEED non-smoking and possibility the Mighty Ducks....that's it. Well you can imagine when we checked in and found not only could they not put us in a room with what I faxed in, they gave away ALL of the non-smoking rooms earlier in the day....yes, they did not save me a GUARANTEED non-smoking room for medical reasons. We were then informed that we had been MOVED to the A/S Sports. The room was so far away we had to drive to the food court. (It was the room next to the group check in kiosk.) So this year when we stay at US the first night, we plan to get up early, drive to POP and pre-check in, just to line up a decent room. Drive back to US to enjoy FOTL access and check into our room later in the day at Pop. I wish you luck and hope what happened to us, will not happen to you or anyone else.

We arrived after midnight in October and I was so sure we'd get a "crappy" room/location. I had requested non-smoking, building 9B. We arrived well after midnight (friend's flight was delayed ) and was a little disappointed at check-in when they said we had building 8A. But when we got to the room...it was beautiful...newly renovated...a corner room overlooking the pool.

I agree about not faxing...if it's a simple request, just have them put it in your reservation. Also, I had them note on our reservation that we would be arriving close to midnight so they were aware of it...I don't know if that helped. Good luck.
