Checking in Early

We are staying at AKV Kidani for one night before a cruise, simply to enjoy the resort.

I've never stayed at any Disney property before, and we are trying to figure out which flight to choose. I know we can't plan to have the room available until 4pm (though we may get lucky), but if we arrived at the resort and checked in, are we still able to use the pools and recreation facilities?

Short answer- yes. And I've never been to Kidani, but at the other resorts there is usually a shower in the pool bathrooms if you need to shower and change clothes.

The last twice we have stayed at Kidani we got our room just after 2pm

Though your room may not be ready, earliest offical check-in time is 7 a.m., but you can arrive as early as 6 a.m. and check-in as long as there is someone working the front desk at that time. You can use all amenties at the resort on check-in day.

We always check in early to the resorts....we pack a backpack with clothes and use the showers at the pool if our rooms are not ready, and hang out there, we always have full run of the resort

I am not sure about the kidani pool bathrooms, but the jambo house pool has a great bathroom/shower area. I think they even had body soap dispensers!
