How early can you check in at the port and what time do they usually allow you to board?

We got there at 9:30, checked in at around 10, we were in boarding group 1, we boarded at aroung 12:15

We got there at 10:15 and they were just starting to check in and we were boarding group 4. We boarded about 12:15 also.

Boarding began about noon for the first groups (i.e. concierge level) on the 6/25 cruise out of L.A. I had been told that they never board anyone before noon--and I don't see how they could turn things around any faster anyway. You won't have access to your room until about 2 p.m.

I am still amazed at how quickly the ship is ready for the next cruise. When we were disembarking, I looked down at the dock below and saw dozens of pallets of food and materials ready to come onboard. (It made me want to hide somewhere and just go out again...but I suppose I would have held up the whole next cruise while they hunted me down. Sigh.)

And what is there to do until boarding time? I know at PC there is quite a bit to see... the ship, characters, movies. I am hoping there will be plenty to keep us entertained until that final blessed moment when we can actually step foot onboard and let the celebratioin begin. :cheer2:  pirate:

Not much to do. Character photo ops, a mexican band. But we were too excited to wait one minute longer to get there.

I wanted to arrive by 10:30 but that did not work out so we ended up getting there about 12:30. The checkin line had about 50 people in front of us but we were done in about 15 minutes.

Next came kid's club checkin. I had registered our DS online but the DCL representives (at least two different ones) sent me to the line for people who had not registered their children online. That line is SLOW! Register your children online and get in the preregistered line. It is much faster.

We got to board at 2 PM so checkin is much faster than it was a few weeks ago.

Disembarkation was easy. We had a 9:30 shuttle pick-up so they gave us early disbarkeation. We were off the ship around 7:45, had our luggage and standing the curb by 8:00. Fortunately, we were able to catch an early shuttle so we did not have to wait for 1.5 hours there. Waiting at airports is not my idea of fun but it beats waiting on a sidewalk hands down!
