Is there a way to find out your building ahead of time or do you have to wait until you arrive?

Additionally, being a Saturday, what are the chances the room will be ready prior to 4pm?

Thanks in advance,

Jeff pirate:

They do not release room numbers until the room is ready for occupancy. If your room is not ready, they sometimes will tell you the building # at the front desk. They will not tell you over the phone before you arrive (if they are using "room ready" they do not assign it until you check-in). We've usually had good luck on Saturdays arriving after 1:00. It depends on if your room was occupied the night before. If not, it would be ready early. If it needed cleaned, it could be later.

For non-DVC members, do they accept building requests?

If so, what buidings are recommended near the main pool and close to a bus stop?

They accept room requests by adding them to your reservation (do not call or fax the front desk). You are betting off requesting an area rather than specific buildings (just like you have it - near main pool & bus stop).

Check here for a map of the resort:

We checked in on a Saturday and our room was ready, it was about 12:30-1:00pm. They did have to do a switch in the computer though, b/c at first they asked me if a "smoking optional" room was ok. I told them no and they found a non-smoking room that was ready. A painless procedure all around.

Last time we were at OKW, it was all done at the front desk (for the 1 BR). When we checked in (around 3:30), he looked for what was available meeting our requests, and gave us a choice of 3 different buildings. However, when we switched to a studio, just for one night, they didn't tell us anything except that our room wasn't ready. We were never given any choice on that.

We checked in last Saturday at about 12:30 and were immediatelygiven our one bedroom unit. They asked us if 3rd floor was OK and I said yes, otherwise they would have offered us a second floor unit, but I didn't ask if it would have been in the same building or a different one. We ended upin building 38. The view was not great as it overlookedsome woods and the highway beyond, but we did have a view over the trees of the Epcot fireworks every night at 9:00.
