Checking in at check out time

Just realized this. We are driving and trying to do most of it the first day so we would only have about 4 or 5 hours to go the second day. That would put us at Disney around noon or 1:00. With check out time being 11:00, should we go a little later? Just thought about all the people trying to check out while we are trying to check in. Would love input from people who have arrived about that time of day on a Saturday.

We have checked in many times between noon and one. It really hasn't been a big deal. Most people do the express check-out so there aren't a lot of people in line. Besides, by noon they should all be checked out already. I would check-in as soon as you arrive and not worry about it.

I agree. We've checked in at all times of the day also - sometimes the rooms are not ready but I've never had to wait more than a few minutes to check in.

Thank you. For some reason I just pictured this mass of people, half going one way and half going the other lol.

I would like to check in about 5 minutes after midnight on the day of reservation, but we never can, but we get there on the earliest time we can. Put your suitcases in storage and start having fun. You don't need to rest after a trip of sitting in a car, plane or train, get out, visit the resorts, Downtown Disney, Disneywest side, the water holes or your own resort pool. You're room will be there when you need it when its bed time. We put our suits and a change of clothes, like what, a pair of shorts, tee or tank top, change in the pool restroom and do alot of stuff before we check in or while waiting for a room. Once there you can go anywhere without a room key or pre-check in, no room yet, they give you a key to be keyed when your room is ready, so go have fun. Alot to do and see without going to a park.

We haven't always had luck with a room ready at early check in, but they have a great system with early check in. They give you your room key and a number you can call to check on the availability of your room from the parks or wherever you want to explore first. You just put your bags in the luggage room and you can call periodically to see if your room is ready. It is often ready before official check in times. When you arrive to your room you can call and have your bags delivered. (At the deluxe and moderate resorts). It is very handy! Have a great time!

We checked in at check-out time at Pop, but it was on a Wednesday in the middle of January. We didn't have any problems and we were able to go straight to our room, which was nice. I wouldn't necessarily plan to arrive later. See what the line is like and then decide what you want to do.

I know they will store your bags but if you are going to EMH you will need your room keys to get wristbands, so you have to check in. Same story if you need your room keys for dining plan or if you don't already have your MYW tickets. That "drop your bags and go" theory only works in certain situations! :earsboy:

We checked in on a Sat. at CBR. We arrived about 12:10 pm, and waited about 1 1/2 hours.

This trip, we will be checking in on Fri. night, at Pop. I'm expecting a long wait. DH, is going to drop me off, and then take 1 of the kids, with him to the grocery.
