Approximately how long does it take to check into Disney World once you are at the resort? Do they give you tickets, bracelets, or a photo ID type pass? I also have seen a lot of different lanyards for sale. Are they helpful to have there? I saw some lanyards at Old Navy for $1 or $2.

While I'm at it, my daughter wants to get an autograph book. Since we won't be pushing around a stroller, should she have a little backpack to carry her autograph book and pen around? Or should I have a backpack to carry everyone's stuff around?

THANKS AGAIN!!!

Well, the backpack issue is up to you. I will carry the stuff for our group, because i will have stuff to carry so it will eventually be less for me to carry when everyone else complains it's hot, heavy, etc.....so why carry 2 backpacks???

as for checking in.... last year it took about 1/2 hour tops and that was because our room was ready so we dropped our own bags off. we were lucky there was no one in front of us... so it will depend on how many people are in front of you..... they ran my credit card, showed me where the room was, explained the tickets (key/credit card/ park tickets), confirmed reservations, and we were off. so if there isn't too much of a crowd i would figuire around an hour....

as for the lanyards, I would like to know too. hoping not to have a fanny pack, i heard from this board they are out of style....

I agree with GrumpBa*D that it depends on the situation. I've had it be fairly quick and then other times when its took longer. The good thing about Disney is that the resorts are as much fun as the parks so we usually leave my poor DM checking in while we go exploring.

Don't worry about what others say...........if you like the fanny pack, wear it! A vacation is all about you and what works for you, not what others believe is out. I have worn fanny packs but have recently started using one of the sling backpacks because it is bigger and works better for me. My DM, however, will forever be a fanny pack wearer. :) I was watching Hogan Knows Best on VH1 the other day and he is always wearing a fanny pack. Not too sure why you would need it around the house............but hey, whatever floats his boat.

I wouldnt weigh your daughter down with a backpack.
The lanyards depending on which ones you are looking at the flat type for pin trading or the rope kind for holding your ID's/passes? I had one to use for pin trading and my son who had just turned 5 also wanted one and really enjoyed trading with the cast members mostly (when the CM's are wearing green lanyards they will only trade with children) I wasnt too sure at his age he would be into it be he was.

I used a sling type messenger bag my last trip to WDW and carried my kids autograph book and pen, along with extra sunscreen, hats the admission tickets and anything else.
