Checking in a Priceline hotel

Any one know know if I can check in a hotel booked with priceline without a credit card? Without going into a big story- I no longer have a credit card. I do have a debt/visa. Will that work?

I have used my Mastercard logo debit card to check into priceline hotels at least 4 times in the last two months with never a problem. 3 of the 4 times I was asked to give a credit card for "incidentals" and one time was not asked for anything. I never had any "incidental" charges because I use my own cell phone not the hotel phone and never rent the movies or get room service.

Yes, you can use a debit card with the credit logo.

They often will run your card for $75 or whatever to cover incidentals, then release whatever you don't spend when you check out. If money is tight (when is it not?!) ask them at check-in (or call ahead) to see what they need to put on the card so you are prepared.

They will make it so you can't use these funds while you are on your trip.

Don't worry. We carry only a debit card with the Visa logo & have checked into at least 10 differnet hotels over 3 years & they all have taken my debit card without a comment. I personally never had a hold placed, some just do a $1 to make sure it's valid but that's it. At the end they charge any meals etc I may of charged t o the room. I also check routinely my balance while on vacation since my number has been stolen before, but that;s just me being paranoid. & I have always gotten my hotels through priceline or hotwire & they never gave me a hard time or even noticed it was a debit card. So relax & don't worry. I usually do take out cash to use to go to eat, gas,
shopping at the parks etc when on vacations in Orlando or Tampa because I don't like to gie out my debit card when on vacation.

For most hotels, you can also pay the deposit with cash although the amount will usually run higher than if you have a cc on file.
