We are checking in on the 13th and get the discount off o f the rooms on the 14th. Do I have to do two different reservations one night for the 13th and another one that starts the 14th thru the rest of the stay?

With day to day pricing you will not have to have 2 ressie's with a room only reservation or even a package with just the room discounted. Your first night will just not be discounted.

Now with free dining or even possibly the kids stay and play free you would have to have a room only first night and start your promotional package.

We are checking in on November 12 and our room discount does not start until the 13th. We had to have two separate reservations, although they are linked and hopefully, we will not have to switch rooms, but I do have to do the reregister thing on the 13th. I was told that was how it worked if your discount starts after your reservation - if your reservation is longer than the discount, it doesn't work the same and you can do on one.

Thank you, It wouldn't let us do it online so I guess we will have to call and see what they say I really don't want to have to switch rooms

They require separate ressies and you may need to switch rooms. Also, if you had opted for dining plan, since these require tickets, your first ressie will be room only and the 2nd one will be package.

You won't have dining on the first day, however, you can get tickets from the 2nd reservation ahead of time.

Thank you, this is what I thought we aren't doing the dining plan but my sister is so I will let her know.

Is it often that you have to change rooms? We're going in Oct and have 2 reservations- 1st half of trip is discounted. What is our chances of having to change rooms?

We had thought about doing 2 reservations with the kids free and then the room discount. The CM I spoke to said that try not to move you unless you are changing room types of course. I told him I figured we would have to bring our stuff down store and and then pick it up when we got back from the parks and he said that would just be mean :)

So hopefully the chances are pretty small but you might not know until the day you check in for the first part of your stay.

I had to last year at CSR. Due to the way the AP discounts fell, I had to make two seperate reservations. When I first made them, I had the CM link them and then reminded the CM at CSR when I checked in. She told me, she would see what they could do, but wouldn't make any promises. The next morning when I checked in for the second reservation I was told I had to move from Casitas 2 to Cabanas 8A.:confused3 There have also been lots of other people here on the DIS that have posted they've also had to change rooms. MissyTara is one that comes to mind. She had to change rooms at PORS.
