Just did a thread search, the info I found was from a thread in 2004. Just wanted to update the question.

How does DL prevent folks who live outside of So Cal from having a family member who lives in So Cal purchase a So Cal AP and then give that So Cal AP to the out of state family member to use?

If the So Cal family member purchased the eticket, gave the eticket to the out of state family member, on the first day of admission, the out of state family member would have their picture on the So Cal AP and everything would be OK?

What am I missing?

Thanks!

When we bought our APs at the Disney Bank, they checked our ID and address. They look at the zip code. I think it is only those starting with 93 or 92 and under. I would imagine that even if the local person bought the AP, when you went to have it activited and have your picture taken, I bet they check then.

I have heard that you can get Delux passes at Costcos in S. Cal. that come with a $50 gift card. Maybe you might want to consider that. :)

We just moved here from MA and only have MA licenses. Went to DL in September to buy the SoCal AP's. We had to show ID's AND because we had out of state (MA) ID I did bring a copy of the first page of our rental lease with our SoCal addy!!! They asked to see that!!!

I know when we upgraded our hoppers to delux ap's we had to present our drivers license with photo id on it right at the ticket window.
