Last time we flew...3 years ago....I remember there was a limit of the amount of liquids you could have in checked bags....we had to split the sunblock up over all our suitcases!!! Can anyone tell me if that is the case still? TIA!!!!

I've never heard of such a thing. There are some restrictions on items in checked luggage (lighters, matches, etc.) but there are not any restrictions on liquids in checked bags.

Where exactly did you have to do this shifting around of sunscreen? At your airline's ticket counter, or at security. If it was at the security checkpoint, then you were dealing with carry-ons, not checked bags.

There are very strict restrictions on liquids/gels/aerosols in carry-on bags.

We knew about the restriction before we packed so luckily it was no big deal...I think it was just after or during a period where we were on that elevated alert status so it may have been a brief restriction due to that. september 2006.

Yeh, maybe there was something unusual going on around then, because it was in August of 2006 that the London plot was uncovered, the thing that led to the restrictions on liquids in carry-ons. Perhaps the TSA at your airport went above and beyond the call of duty ....:confused3

well....hopefully that was it then and there aren't any restrictions now...with a fam of 7 staying at disney for 16 days we need to pack a ton of sunblock!
