check your Song flights out of Boston

I'm really surprised that some are upset or surprised by Delta/Song recent flight changes/cancellation given that they just filed bankruptcy. It was bound to happen. They are doing the best they can, IMHO.

If you book way in advance on any airline, expect some changes. If you are booked with an airline that just went bankrupt, expect some changes/cancellations.

ITA with this. We fly every year during February school vacation out of MA. So we always book as early as possible. I expect flight time changes, and flight consolidations. I was just bummed about my seats. But like I said, in the grand scheme of things, it's no biggie. We are now leaving only 45 minutes before our originally scheduled flight (it's changed a few times) and we still get to Orlando early enough to check in, hit DtD, get some dinner, and let DS swim if it's warm enough.

Well, actually, it is right. Please remember that when you book airline tickets more than a couple of months prior to a flight, you're booking against a forecasted schedule, not an actual schedule. The schedule will change every few months. Your specific flight may or may not change, but it could. You need to ask yourself, would you rather be subject to changes, or would you rather not purchase your seat until the last month or two before your trip, because those are the only two choices that are viable to offer at this time.

ITA!!!

That is why I am one of those who NEVER complains about SWA's so called "late" schedule postings. I can rest assured that once I book a flight on SWA, it won't change unless Mother Nature or a mechanical problem interferes.

The legacy carriers like Delta and NWA are in Chapter 11 and reorganizing. This morning on the local news they reported that NWA will be dropping flights out of DTW within the next few days.

Personally, I wish the airlines WOULDN'T post a schedule until they are POSITIVE they will fly it.

Yes, we all know its the nature of the beast, we don't need to be reminded of that. We all know what they are going through and most including myself can deal with the time delays, even if they are a pain in the butt. My main beef is with the seat changes. Is it not possible on a flight change just to take the already booked seats as is and go from there? So, IMHO I have the right to beef about anything. And that if I am not happy I can go elsewhere.

As you beef and voice your opinion, so can everyone else. Just egnore the posts you don't like.

I believe it's because their original flight was at 7pm. And I think that Dislifer is a teacher and can't make an earlier flight.

I have to say Delta is making more than just a change every few months. Lately it's like every week. Fortunately for me I like the times I have ended up with so it works for me. But I can see why Dislifer wouldn't be happy. I would think that Song would be adding another non-stop after 3:30pm. They always usually have one that leaves around 7pm.

JennSaint: You've got it EXACTLY!!! I'm working on getting out at lunch and that's a huge ordeal, if I have to get out earlier, I know it will be an impossibility.
I will only hope for the best...that's all I can do! :confused3 :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Steven'sMom be ready...I am sure your flights will change many more times before July!

We have ressies. for JAN. 06 out of BDL (CT) and since I made them in June I have had 6 flight changes in just 4 months. Some changes were for several minutes but others were different by a few hours.

I will be thankful that the flight will still be flying when we get to Jan. with all the flight changes/drops Delta/Song is making.

I check the flights every few days just to see what may have happened to it.

Happy flying to all! :flower:

We're flying from BDL as well and our times have been changed but thus far they're working in our favour- a later departure from BDL and MCO the day we leave. I just hope it stays like that. As if, LOL.

Our reservation from MCO to BDL was just changed to a different flight. It only changed by an hour but since they changed flights and gave us new seat assignmets (separating my familiy) can I call them and ask for a later flight? Do they wave the change fee or am I still on the hook for it. Just wondering since they initiated the change do they allow this with no charge...

Since they changed it, they will make the change for you at no cost to you.

They probably will, as a matter of generosity. However, they're only obligated to if the change is greater than two hours.

They moved our flight home in Feb from 5pm to 6:45, changed the flight number from Bos but no change in time. I am sure tey are not done with changes.

Yup, changed ours too. The first flight was moved up from 8:50am to 8:00am no big deal there. The flight coming home was cancelled. It was a 5:00pm flight. They re-booked us on a 2:15pm flight.

If I can get tickets on Southwest from Manchester to Orlando, I will cancel these tickets in a heartbeat. I don't want to gamble with my vacation plans because Delta is re-organizing!

I am having problems booking a package with the disney site for delta flights
in august .every time i pick it states the choice is not available but when i check delta there are flights .What do i do call cro and book a package then
wait until delta or disney coincide or wait until close to my departure? :confused3

Yes, they cancelled all but 2 daily flights, mine included, from Boston to Orlando the 1st week of April.
That worked out to my advantage. I got the expensive afternoon flights that I originally wanted for the bargin basement price that I originally paid.
Good Luck all

Are you sure that Disney isn't allocated a specific inventory of Delta flights to sell? That's not uncommon for folks who resell airline travel as part of travel packages.

Another flyer with changed times and flight numbers checking in. Unfortunately, they changed my flight leaving BOS to MCO by 3 hours!!! I now don't arrive at MCO until 6:00 pm. That kind of bums me out.
