I just checked our Sept. flights and our departure flight was cancelled.
I called Airtran and they were able to book us on a different flight. :thumbsup2
It leaves around the same time and is a non-stop, just a different flight number Flight 671 has become 673
I have yet to figure out why Airtran does this? :confused3

For some reason they do things like that a lot. Our flights both north and south have been changed. They only changed the times by about 20 minutes but they didn't even notify me, which they are supposed to do. It really isn't that big of a deal but I'm not to happy about arriving at MCO 20 minutes later. Going home is great because it's a morning flight.

A couple years ago we travelled with them and they added an hour on to my layover. Again, without notification. I found out just by being nosey. I went online to see how much the fare had gone up. Which BTW is the same way found out this time too.

My September flight wasn't canceled, but the flight time home change by almost 30 minutes. I received a letter from Disney about it. Not a big deal, but slightly irritating. I have never had this happen with a flight before. Now hearing about flights being canceled, I think this may be my last Air Tran flights. I have other airlines that are competitive and more organized.

YES!

I know that Airtran changing schedules can screw up some people's plans, but for us it worked out great.

Our flight to WDW did not change (well, the arrival time was backed up a few minutes, but the departure is the same).

On our flight back home, they only changed our flight from Orlando to Atlanta by 2 minutes, but they pushed back our connection by 20 minutes. We only had a 50 minute layover in Atlanta, and we now have 70 minutes. That should give us a little more breathing room.

We will see if they change again, but for us anyway, this round of changes definitely worked to our benefit.

It really seems like Southwest is about the only airline where you do not run the risk of flight times being changed. I've heard complaints about most of the other airlines changing things around on people or cancelling flights. That is the big advantage to Southwest in my mind. Our times on this trip are pretty flexible, so a few changes does not really bother us much, so Airtran is fine.

This is b/c SWA doesn't release their schedule until around 6 mos in advance. Other airlines that release 11 mos out often use projected schedules then tweak them as flight time approaches and they see how full the planes are.

Personally, we love this about SWA but you'll read just as many complaints from Dis-ers who complain that they're so stressed out b/c they can't stand to book their flights with such 'short notice'.
:lmao:
