My husband received 15 emails today and I received 5 emails to add people to our MDE account. The emails were people trying to plan a Disneyland vacation.
I know one of the people as a friend of a friend, the others I did not know. The friend of a friend has never been added by us to our accounts as she is more of an acquaintance.
Upon logging into my account, this friend of a friend was added to my account with the ability to view all my details, even though I had not added her.
When my husband logged in, he had 47 contacts who could view his details, most of these people we do not know. We believe they may be friends and family of friends. We did not authorize any of these additions. We know names came from at least 3 different accounts, possibly more.
Disney is looking into it, but in talking to my friend today, her friend had issues with her account and called IT for assistance, and this issue came up shortly after.
I had to call Disney to remedy the issue on the accounts, but the cast member on the phone didn't seem to see any issue with privacy.
It worries me a little that I could have just ignored the emails thinking they were spam, and not have checked our account.
