We just got home from Orlando today and thought I'd post this warning. We purchased a lovely snowglobe on the Magic this week and I didn't want to pack it in the checked luggage because of the potential for breakage. It never occured to me that it would be confiscated due to the liquid in it! The inspection officer was very nice, and escorted me around to the exit so I could go into the Disney Store there to see if they would ship it for me (they did!) If he hadn't been so nice, I would have lost the beautiful, not to mention expensive, snowglobe. A word to the wise.......

I can't speak for the CMs on the Cruise Ship, but the CMs at WDW are suppose to tell the guests about not being able to take a snowglobe as a carry-on and then to suggest to the guest that they have it shipped.

Just have them shipped from the store you buy them at--that way you won't be charged tax as long as it's going outside of FL.

Definitely ship it. They DO get broken in checked luggage.

Warning for Canadians....shipping is VERY expensive. Plus you will be charged duty on it. There is a process where you can apply to get it back if you are under your allowed amount for the trip. Have had a number of clients/friends pay quite a bit to get one of those babies home!!
