oh my goodness im so excited...I just booked our trip, for the March 7th thru the 13th, 5 days at disneyland, so I called my MIL and was telling her how excited we are and blah blah blah and she goes "aw I havent been there since our honeymoon in 1973!!!" ok so my brain gets to rolling and I think, wouldnt it be AWESOME if we could swing getting my inlaws to fly down (they live in ALASKA!) and surprise my husband by knocking on our hotel door after we check in and spend the week with us?!?!? :thumbsup2

I KNOW RIGHT! so excited, so ive been trying to work with her in figuring things out and getting things all put together all while trying to keep it a secret from my husband and kids! stressful but it will be SO MUCH FUN if we can pull it off! maybe even thinking about getting it on video and posting it when we come back....he will be so EXCITED! :cloud9:

Anyway, if any of you have any other ideas on how we can surprise him besides the knocking on the door thing I would love to hear them to, as always I am open to suggestions! :thumbsup2

Surprising him at the hotel room door sounds fun but what about arranging for them to "coincidentally" in front of the castle as you walk by?

OMG That would be WAY cool! :cool1: Have your Inlaws agreed to come down with you? What a huge secret that would be to keep, but how fun too. Defintely keep us posted on this. This just sounds way too fun. I agree with Jenpace. Just magically bump into them somewhere special. That way your not stuck in your hotel room and your options are wide open for that special occasion.

its not 100% sure yet, but the chances are good, I would say at least 90% sure they are coming especially since there is plenty of notice...cant wait, if this all works out it will be the best surprise ever for my husband!

Oooh I like this one! Well I like the 'room service' knocking on the door thing too .. there is a chance he may see them coming or walk out on accident, or something .. but the castle, gosh would rock!

Great daughter in law you are! I love my in laws too, but I know there's many who don't .. I am going to take tips from my mother in law to be a great MIL too someday ..

We are going to be there the 22-26 .. I think there's a March thread around here where all the March persons who are going can post ..

Congrats, I love suprises!

We had friends that did this time of thing but on a Disney cruise, but you could do what they did at a hotel too.

They took the kids out on the balcony not long after they got there and were sitting down enjoying things when Grandma and Grandpa showed up on the balcony right next door. It was an awesome surprise!

Good luck.

How exciting!

How about...

Arrange a time to meet them at the floral Mickey right inside the entrance of the Park. They could get there and sort of stay out of sight. You could get your family to pose for a picture in front of the floral Mickey and - whoosh - your in-laws pop in to the picture. SURPRISE! And then that moment could be caught on film too!

Fun surprise!

That is a great idea as well! I knew this would be the place to come see if anyone had any more good ideas, thank you all so very much!!!

Already signed up on that post! thanks for the info tho! Im gonna have to dig out my disney stuff and see if my brain needs refreshing, its only been a few months since I was there last but the last trip was not the best for me....anyway, Im getting soooooo excited!!!

just going to suggest the picture idea. I would have your DH and kids posing in front of the castle, and have your MIL/FIL stand behind them, smiling for the camera... then show the pic on the camera to DH and see if he notices them in the picture!!! What a hoot!!! I love Disney surprises!!!

How exciting!! Glad to see you excited about another trip to Disneyland!! I think you'll come up with the best way to surprise him. Pick a special place at Disneyland for you both & go from there. Fingers crossed that they are able to come down & join you!! FUN FUN FUN!!!

Yay Laurie! you know when I went last it wasnt under the best circumstances, and while I made some awesome lasting memories before my mom passed I couldnt help but feel like I never even went, its hard to explain but when I got home, it didnt feel like Ihad just spent 3 days there. Anyway...this has really given me something to look forward to and surprising my husband (if all goes as planned) will make me eligible for the "WIFE OF THE YEAR" award lol :rolleyes1

And who knows...I may even start a PTR! Ive never done a PTR or a TR for that matter, but im so nervous about it and I dont really write that well and I dont even know where to start as far as inserting pics and making sure they are the right size and all that?!?! we'll see what happens!

I love the idea of having them show up somewhere in the park where you can get a PP photographer to take your picture as they show up. In front of the castle, the hub, or at the Mickey face are great ideas. Another, maybe even easier spot would be in DCA just as you walk in. Your family could be standing there getting your picture taken and the grandparents could sneak out from one of the stores and get behind you in the picture. A perfect time would be when you point into the sky for the added enhancement of Mickey and friends soarin' over your heads.

If you do it in front of PP photog, try to let him (or her) know so they'll take a bunch of pictures. Then you can either buy the photos or (this is what I would do) buy the CD online when you get home. It's only $59.95 and you can add all the enhancements you want. They even have some that would be great of the grandparents kissing (like by the Snow White grotto-you could add the "Happily Everafter border)

Sounds like fun, wish I could have someone surprise us there.
