We returned yesterday from DVC BWV stay 3/1-3/4 (we snuck away without the kids!!!)Stayed inroom 2131, standard view studio. Room and view were perfect. 2131 faced a small pond and THEN the parking lot. To the right was the MGM walkway and river access to MGM. Just perfect!!! While our location was FAR from the elevators, it was extremely convenient to the quiet pool. Going to the quiet pool was a saving grace. As DVC members we were unaware of the community hall and all that it offers for daily children activities. Next time we will be sure to utilize this amenity!!

Anyway, on check out day we got a loud and machine gun like knock at 8:30 AM!!!!! She asked us what time we will be checking out, and I told her 11:00 AM. She was in the hall when we went to breakfast and asked us again. At 10:00 she knocked again, and asked again!!! At 10:45 she didn't knock, she entered with her key. We were sitting on the couch watching the weather channel because we had to fly out into the stormy east. I didn't even look up, I was furious and ready to blow!!! My wife said "HELLO" and contiued watching TV with me.

This was only my second stay as a DVC member. Is there some resentment by housekeeping towards us??

I had the last laugh by leaving the room at 10:59 with no gratuity.

Besides that experience we had great weather and a very relaxing time.

I would recommend making use of the "Do Not Disturb" sign on check out day when staying late AND double locking the door

I would report her! There is no need for that rudeness. One question about checking out should have been enough AND I would have been mad at the knocking at 8:30!

When you wish upon a star...DVC will take you far...anything your heart desires....will come your way

We always sleep late on our last day as we have a very long drive home (22 hours). If someone knocks on my door at 8:30 a.m. next week, she will be reported. Also entering a room with guests still present, is incredibly unprofessional.

On my 2 DVC stays last year (1 at OKW, 1 at BWV), on both check out mornings we kept getting hang up phone calls. We had the "do not disturb" sign out. I suspect (ok, I can't prove it) that it was housekeeping checking if we were still there (around 8:30-9:00).

We kept getting the phone calls too. Unfortunately we were running behind schedule (couldn't cram all our 'stuff' into the suitcases) but since it wasn't 11am yet we weren't too worried. At least twice we noticed the door to the hallway was opened a few inches and then closed again. I was already flustered about getting to the GF in time for the tea party and now I had housekeeping breathing down my neck. After we got out of the room (10:59am) I was so relieved I never gave the phone calls or open doors a second thought.

I'm glad I know about this. I'll be sure to put out the "Do Not Disturb" sign, and use the other lock. We need to be at the airport for 11 AM anyway. Maybe I'll let them know at check-in that we plan to leave by 10 AM...so leave us alone! ;)

The same type of thing happened to me last time I was down at OKW (Feb. 01) We had the "Privacy" sign up until we called bell services to pick up our bags at about 10:30. After getting off the phone with bell services we took the privacy sign off the door. Within a few minutes housekeeping was coming in the room! They did not knock or even announce themselves. We let her know we were still there and then I called to complain. I spoke with a supervisor who was very appologetic but still did not see my point that I had until 11:00 a.m. to leave the room. She informed me that housekeeping starts at 8:30 a.m. but would not go to a room that had the privacy sign on the door but as soon as it comes off they will try to get access to the room (although they are supposed to knock and announce themselves) She did suggest calling housekeeping and letting them know when you will be leaving the room when you checkout. They will then make a note of it and not disturb you on checkout day. I don't know if this works or not but I intend to try it next visit.

I met the cleaning person outside my room and she asked if I was leaving. She was very pleasant. I said no and that was the last we ever saw of her. I think some of Disney's staff may need to be educated on their technique. Disney management may need to be educated about the need for more cleaning staff if these people can't get their work done between 11 am and 4pm - the normal check in time.

OKW housekeeping knocked on our door at 9:30 a.m. on 2/23 and asked when we would be leaving. We told her 11, she said thanks, very pleasant. When we did leave the room, we called housekeeping to inform them, and they were very happy to hear from us.

That was fine, we were up and packing 10 pounds of stuff in a 5 pound bag. But, I sure wouldn't have liked an 8:30 a.m. bang on the door.
