Check my WPF&M Math

I think the rule of thumb on the Water Parks Fun & More (WPF&M) upgrade is that it's only worth it if you're going to use it at least twice. If you're only going to use it once it's better to buy a 1-day admission.

However, if I'm going to get Park Hopper (PH) regardless, then it seems better to just go ahead and add WPF&M even if I only plan one water park day, because of the discount for adding both upgrades. I'm specifically talking about water park admissions. The numbers for DisneyQuest, mini golf, etc, are different.

Maths for my family of four (myself, DW, DD 10, and DS 6), rounded to nearest dollar including tax:

PH alone: $256
PH and WPF&M: $366
Difference: $110

One day water park admission: $217

Hence, I'd save $107 with WPF&M over a 1-day water park admission, again assuming PH is going to be on the ticket no matter what.

Just wanted to make sure I'm not missing anything.

You're right. If you are going to add PH anyway and you know you are going to go to a water park you should buy the WP&M. I just did it for my DD's friend who is joining us.

So byt this math, if I am buying a 4 day NON-hopper pass and want to go to 1 waterpark 1 time, I should not add the WPF&M but rather just the one day admission to the waterpark?

Thanks - this is really helpful info!:thumbsup2

Yes, but WPF&M option also includes DisneyQuest, 9-hole regular golf, and mini-golf before 4pm. If you would like to use these options in addition to one water park visit, you'd get your money's worth. On a 4-day MYW ticket, each person would have 4 WPF&M options.

One thing I love about WPF&M is being able to stretch the duration of your ticket. For example, with a "4-day" PH with WPF&M, we did this:

Day 1: AK/Epcot
Day 2: TL
Day 3: MK
Day 4: BB
Day 5: Epcot
Day 6: DHS/Epcot/DHS
Day 7: BB/TL

For the first time, my family of Annual Passholders will be traveling during the summer and I too have looked into upgrading in order to access Water Parks.

I guess it is not surprising that the math works the same. If your family plans to go to Water parks more than once, upgrade to a Premium Annual Pass.

I am also hoping to utilize the Disney Quest option on a day that looks like a rain day (50% chance of rain on any given Summer day).

Yes. (Economists call this "marginal analysis". ;) )

Thanks for the replies everyone! I thought I had it right but it never hurts to check.
