check in with credit cards

Usually when I checkin at a dvc I give my credit card. But for reasons that would take too long to get into- I would rather not do that when I checkin next week. Is it enough to show my membership card and maybe put some cash on the room? What are my options?

You don't have to give a credit card. When I go with friends, we don't leave a credit card. You don't need to show your member card either. Just photo ID to match the reservation.

leaving the credit card will just facilitate your being able to charge back to the room and use the express checkout - i think.

The real reason to leave a credit card is for room charging and express check out. If you don't need charging and don't mind checking out then you don't need to put one down.
