Check in questions at PC

How long have you waited to check at PC between 3 and 5 PM. We are arriving at 2PM. Should we go straight to the resort and check in or wait until later to check in. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We got to the resort around 2:30 and there were only 3 people that were in front of in line. Total check in was less than 15 minutes

I am in Ontario too, and just wanted to say Hi. We are leaving for WDW and staying at the Pop Century starting on Thursday!

I checked into Pop on a Friday afternoon in October, and we had two people in front of us in line. By the time we made it up to the desk, the line was about 10 people long. So, it really depends on your luck. If you hit it right after a group from a Mears or Disney Cruise bus, you may be in for a long wait (this happened to me at the CBR once, and we had to wait 45 minutes in line, then 20 minutes to check in, and another 20 minutes to get transportation to our room--it took us about an hour and a half from the time we arrived at the resort until we got our room).

I was at POP last Feb (used Mears) and we walked right up - it did take us awhile to check in because our CM was an older lady (70ish), dear as could be, but easily confused.

Other times when we had to go down to the front desk we waited once (out of 3 times, needed a brace ordered for my foot - they not only called the pharmacy, it was delivered and charged to my room!).

I know I've read of others waiting a long time - maybe that was during a very busy season? They did tell us that the resort was filled to capacity the weekend we were there!

I am wondering what it will be like December 9th sicne loads of DISers are checking in the same day, before and after!

Check in wait times are hit or miss and have a lot to do with luck. I would recommend you heading to Pop when you arrive and just take it from there. Hope you have a great trip.

Thanks, we check in on the 7th, but have reservations for the BBQ. Just hoping we have time to checkin and get to Fort wilderness. Thanks again.

Last trip I had made reservation at the Pop for one of my sisters she wasn't going to arrive until later that day so I told her I would check-in for her at the Pop then she could drive straight to the Wilderneess Lodge to meet-up with us for dinner. I waited over an hour just in the line. Total check-in 1hour 20 minutes this was on a Friday arrived at 3:00pm. When we stayed at the Pop on other visits check-in only took a few minutes but we arrived earlier so I would check in first.
